Materials: -5 beakers -10 test tubes -water -1 M HCl -1 M NaOH -universal indicator -pipet -10 droppers -funnel -graduated cylinder -parafilm Procedure 1) Fill one beaker with 300 mL distilled water. This will have pH of 7. 2) Fill another beaker with 300 mL distilled water. Add 30 mL of 1 M HCl. This will have a pH near 1. 3) Fill another beaker with 300 mL distilled water. Add 30 mL of 1 M NaOH. This will have a pH near 13. 4) Fill another beaker with 300 mL distilled water. Add 3 mL of HCL. This will have a pH near 2. 5) Fill another beaker with 300 mL distilled water. Add 0.3 mL of HCL. This will have a pH near 3 6) Cover each beaker with parafilm. 7) Have empty test tubes ready for solutions to be poured into. 8) Have students add solution and indicator to test tubes. 9) Wash out test tubes.
