    How to Pronounce *-ed in English The past simple tense and past participle of all regular verbs end in -ed. For example:

    base verb (v1)

    past simple (v2)

    past participle (v3)

    work worked worked

    In addition, many adjectives are made from the past participle and so end in -ed. For example:

    I like painted furniture.

    The question is: How do we pronounce the -ed?

    The answer is: In 3 ways - / Id/ or / t/ or / d/

    If the base verb ends in one of these sounds:

    Written Work Correction Codes

    When I correct your essays, I shall not actually correct them in the sense

    that I shall not tell you the correct version.

    Instead, I will underline an erroneous word or section and give you a hint, in

    the form of a code representing the type of error you have committed. Stage

    two of your writing task is to correct your own mistakes (preferably in a third

    colour), then ask me to check your error corrections in the following class.

    That way you will arrive at a grammatically and idiomatic sound solution and

    hopefully remember the correct means of expression for the next time you

    need to need to write something similar.
