the increasingly high technical requirements regarding size, shape and functionality of electronic components and assemblies can only be met by dispensing media with precisely specified properties. this is achieved by adding filler materials.
Absolutely Consistent Quality
To guarantee the continuous and constant fee-ding of a completely homogeneous dispensing medium into the metering and dispensing sys-tem, the material needs to be properly prepa-red. This is a precondition for perfect dispensing quality. The prevention of air bubbles, which is required in many applications, is ascertained by precision evacuation.
Process Reliability
A well thought-out preparation and feeding system can even compensate for interruptions, breaks and errors during dispensing or other downstream production steps without compro-mising quality requirements at all.When processed in a vacuum, dispensing media sensitive to moisture retain their full qualitative and functional properties. Heating keeps the dis-pensing material in a state where its processing characteristics are ideal even in production halls or sites without climate control.
The product portfolio of Scheugenpflug offers a solution for all one or two component dispen-sing materials with viscosities ranging from 50 to 1,000,000 mPas and above.
Principle of cause and effect
Adequate material preparation and feeding is essential for constant production quality.
Filled material usually means high viscosity, abrasiveness and risk of sedimentation.
High viscosity requires heating. When highly abrasive media are used machine parts
must be protected against wear and tear.
Heating means faster sedimentation and precipitation of fillers.
High risk of air bubbles in the dispensing material.
Air bubbles in the dispensing material affect the mixing ratio and alter the metered quantity. This impairs
the quality of your finished products. Degassing by simultaneous application of a vacuum is necessary.
Sedimentation requires stirring and circulation of the dispensing material.

a90 c l cartridgesCompressed air pushes the cartridge trigger and loads the dispensing material from the cartridge into the metering and dispensing system. At the same time, the piston of the pneumatic cylinder moves the cartridge outlet over the surface of the workpiece, which guarantees smooth discharging of the dispensing material. The ope-rator gets notified when the material contained in the cartridge reaches a specified lower alert level and when it is empty.

Thebarrel(hobbock,pail)ispositionedontheergonomichobbockdrawer.Afterclosingthesafetydoor, the operator initiates docking via the controls. This lowers the vacuum barrel follower plate into the drum where the follower plate attaches itself onto the material surface without trapping air. The actual material feeding is done by a scooping piston pump. It starts fully automatically. When the barrel is nearly empty and when it is empty a filling level sensor alerts the operator. The follower plate is discarded together with the empty drum, because it is a disposable product.

The double piston pump of the A280 is optimised for highly viscous and highly abrasive dispensing media. The pump piston pushes the dispensing material away from itself, which brushes abrasive particles off of the cylinder wall. Rinsing and sealing liquids used on the reverse of the piston help to minimise wear and tear. The abrasive fillers are constantly washed away from the sealing surface.

VacuuM Barrel Follower Plate For a220/a280
The patented vacuum barrel follower plate is used in the Scheugenpflug A220 and
A280 systems. Is was developed specifically for feeding highly viscous dispensing media
directly from a hobbock or drum. Compared to conventional barrel follower plate systems the Scheugenpflug barrel follower plate prevents air from being absorbed during the docking procedure. At the same time, the material surface is smoothed, which further helps to stabilise the material flow. This way, flaws are prevented already at the beginning of the process chain.
The barrel follower plate is made of polyethylene(PE),whichguaranteesslidingand manufacturing characteristics that are convincingly supportive to the production process.Inaddition,PEshowssuperiorsurfacecompatibility with the most frequently used dispensing media.
The specially designed A220/A280 systems supply highly viscous media.
The vacuum barrel follower plate attaches itself perfectly to the material in the hobbock.
The air trapped between the plate and the surface of the dispensing material is removed through the plate by a vacuum pump. This way, air can no longer enter into the dispensing material and into the feeding process.
At the same time the material surface is levelled, which facilitates a constant flow of the dispensing mass. The dispensing material is pressed through the opening in the middle and into the supply lines. A controlled filling level measurement system ensures that the container is emptied completely.

Air bubbles in the dispensing material adversely affect dispensing quality. They must be removed before the material is metered and dispensed. In a process commonly known as thin-film degassing air bubbles trapped in the material are removed using a piston pump and an applied vacuum.

Preventing air bubbles in the dispensing process increases production quality. Air bubbles trapped in the material during storage, transportation or filling by the manufacturer considerably increase the risk of faulty dispensing. Ideally, highly vis-cous dispensing materials must be bubble-free when they are extracted from the drum.

Stand-alone degassing
In stand-alone operation, the degassing unit loads dispensing material from any sort of barrel, drum, tank, hose or cartridge. Then, the bubble-free material is fed into the metering and dispensing unit or filled in cartridges.
Backpack degassing
When operated in backpack mode, the de-gassing unit is integrated in an A220 or A280 material preparation system. The vacuum barrel follower plate prevents air from being sucked in during feeding. The dispensing material is pumped from the hobbock, transported through the degassing unit and then processed further. This type of downstream degassing removes all residual air that was trapped in the material.

The all-round system A310 simultaneously prepares the dispensing material while loading it from the barrel. Temperature control also helps to optimise the viscosity of the dispensing medium. The applied vacuum evacuates air trapped in the material already during preparation. Degassed material is required for a bubble-free dispensing process. Circulating the dispensing material continuously prevents sedi-mentation of the contained filler materials and keeps the properties of the dispensing material compo-nents at a constant level. The stirring intensity is adjusted to the dispensing material being prepared.

The A310 TP-TT model has a docking point at the top where the smaller of the available material containers with up to approx. 5 litres/8 kg can be mounted. The arrange-ment is called Top Tank Array and allows connecting the containers directly to the sys-tem. The electrically powered agitator station is adjustable and equipped with a lifting screen and a filling level monitoring. It is best suited for stirring and heating liquid dispensing media. The agitator station is perfect for easy yet reliable filling of the A310 preparation and feeding unit. All material preparation and feeding systems as well as the manual work stations are equipped with the specially designed micro-computer controller SCP200. It monitors and controls all steps of the production process, from the docking of the follower plate, over the feeding of the dispensing material into the system, to the actual metering and dispensing itself. Operation is purely intuitive, i.e. a brief instruction of operators during the first equip-ment start-up is usually enough training. The SCP200 makes it easy to fulfil monitoring, maintenance and analysis tasks and thus helps the operator to perform all production processes quickly and flawlessly. All process relevant data are constantly displayed to the operator. If additional modules are added to the system, such as e.g. an agitator unit or a heater, the necessary interfaces are already included in the control unit. It is possible to switch between several languages during full operation.
