Story (Film, visualisation)
We talk alot about innovation‘
“Radical efficiency is not about tweaking existing services. Rather, it is about generating new perspectives on old problems to ensure a genuine shift in the nature and efficiency of the services on offer
and to transform
Nesta, June 2010
Innovation is in the process‘
Design makes experimentation risk freeIt will uncover new opportunitiesIt is both incremental and radical
The design professionals are working in health‘
Design students are working in health‘
(14 projects, one year group, one college)
“So what is it you do pet?”“I’m a design student.”
“Oh really? So what sort of things is it you design? Chairs?”
“Em kind of.
I design systems, services and experiences as well as products too.”
Students‘
Need additional support not just in design
Huge percentage want to work in health
See it as valuable experience and a career in health
Both during term time and in summer
Some just want short interventions (it takes a long time to set up a focus group, or get user testing)
Health Organisations‘
Who is at the heart of identifying the problem? Is it the organisation and existing project team, with their considerable
expertise in the area, or the designers, with their fresh approach and different perspective? - Harriet Hunter
Programmes not projects
Design with a capital D and not a small d
Paying for skills?
Responsibility
Educators‘
“It’s so inspiring to see the students naturally leaning towards socially focused projects. They are doing it by themselves. It’s
brilliant.” - Hazel White
Matchable is not here to do their job
Some already have good links with health orgs
Very positive about creating health links
See opportunity past design (multi disciplinary)
We have created a blueprint‘
This is the mid point of the blueprint.
We stick to our principle of co-creation
We want your feedback and input
(this means it is not the finished product)
