The Borough anticipates receiving fund- ing from the State of Alaska in the amount of $318,299. The award of grant funds is subject to receipt of funding from the State of Alaska and acceptance and appropriation by the Borough Assembly. Allocation of grant funds will also depend upon the number and quality of proposals received. The amount that may be requested for this program is limited to $35,000 per agency. Applicants should be prepared to accept fewer dollars than requested. The goal of the HSMG program is to provide high quality, cost efficient and community-driven health and human services to residents of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Grant funds may only be used for services which are necessary to prevent or alleviate serious mental or physi- cal hardship. All grant funds must be expended before June 30, 2013. Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) at the request of the MSB School District and in accordance with MSB 19.08.020 and 23.10.270, is seeking Assembly approval to acquire land as a future replacement site for Iditarod Elementary School. Upon MSB solicitation by Request For Proposal, site evaluation, and assigned scoring, the process determined the preferred site as those parcels identified in this notice. Funding for the replacement site was part of the school ballot proposition approved October 4, 2011 by qualified voters of the borough.

Supporting material is available for public inspection during normal business hours on the 2nd floor of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough building in the Land Management Division. Public comment is invited on this request. If you have any comments please mail or deliver them to the borough offices at 350 E. Dahlia Ave. Palmer, AK., no later than June8,2012.
