IM & MU – RU2?
• Meaningful Use and IM• Stage 2 Final Rule
• Specificity around a technology enabler
• On what high impact capabilities are youfocused?
Imaging ResultsObjective:Imaging results consisting of the image itself and any explanation or other accompanying information are accessible through certified EHR technology (CEHRT).Measure:More than 10 percent of all tests whose result is one or more images ordered by the EP during the EHR reporting period are accessible through CEHRT.Clinical Importance:The availability of diagnostic imaging results, along with accompanying information, in the EHR allows providers ease of access when needed during a patient encounter. It also provides an increased ability to share information with patients and assists in improving efficiencies, as access to this information assists in avoiding repeat tests and reducing radiation exposure to patients.

Suggestions
• Consider doing:• Put the patient in the middle, not the “___ologist”
• 3 year road map – good use of consulting dollars
• Embrace concepts of deconstructed PACS
• Engage in service line growth plans
• Look at your EMR as the shared documentation tool, PACS as the workbench
• Go to RSNA with your DI colleagues
• Avoid doing:• Underestimating time & cost of image migration
• Put too much weight on single vendor platform
