Master Michael Tse hasspent over 30 yearstraining with some of themost famous andvenerated teachers inHong Kong and China. At the age of 14, hebegan studying WingChun with his uncle. Inexchange for his studieshe agreed to help hisuncle gather herbs andprepare herbalmedicines. After hisuncle passed away, heknew he wanted tocontinue to develop hisWing Chun skill. Then, one day, while reading the Hong Kong newspaper, he saw an ad

for ‘Wing Chun studies with Grandmaster Ip Chun.” He called and beganto study with him in classes and private lessons. He knew that this was thereal thing and he was proud to be a student of Grandmaster Ip Man’s son

as everyone knew that his father was the best forWing Chun skill. Master Tse found that the more hepractised, the more he became aware of his bonesbecoming stronger and his Qi improving, especiallywhen doing the Siu Lim Tao form for a long time. Hecame to realise that Qigong was the essence ofChinese medicine and also of martial arts. He knewthat this was the next step for his development. Firsthe began studying Hard Qigong, a way of trainingthe body to withstand strong blows and develop

power using special breathing techniques and movements. His Hard Qigong teacher knew of his interest in softQigong and so he said that he should study with Grandmaster Yang Meijun, a Qigong master in China and madethe introductions.

When he met Grandmaster Yang Meijun, she was already over 80 years old and she was famous not onlyin China but throughout Hong Kong and other parts of Asia who were waking up to the Qigong ‘heat’ emanatingfrom China. This was the early 1980’s, a time when China had just begun to open its doors to the rest of the world, having secluded themselves during the Cultural Revolution. Familyskill that had never been opened to the public was now being revealedand so it was an exciting time.

Having been accepted by Grandmaster Yang Meijun, Master Tsetravelled to China several times a year where he often stayed with her, learning her family skill of Kunlun Dayan Qigong, a complete system ofQigong that was over 1800 years old. Even when he moved to England,he would return to visit and learn from her, reaching a very high level.Eventually, his Sifu (his teacher) asked him to start teaching the skill asshe wanted to see her family’s Dayan Qigong skill pass on to the world.

In 1989, whilst visiting his Qigong teacher, he met Master Wu ChunYuen in a Beijing park while he was teaching students Northern Shaolinskill. He was very impressed with the lightness and flexibility of MasterWu who was already in his 60’s. He then began to study with him andlearn what he now calls, Chun Yuen Quan, in honour of Master Wuwho passed away in 2003.

Chen Taijiquan was also becoming more known during the 80’sand Master Tse began studying with his Sifu in Hong Kong. However, when his Sifu retired, Master Tse later began studying with GrandmasterChen Xiao Wang, thus completing the five skills offered by the TseQigong Centre:- Qigong, Wing Chun, Chun Yuen Quan, Hard Qigong,Chen Taijiquan. He also studied Chinese Astrology and Feng Shuiand uses these to help people have a more balanced life.

In 1990, already living and teaching in England,Master Tse founded the Tse Qigong Centre and QiMagazine as a way of helping people to gain betterhealth using the traditional Chinese skill he had learnedfrom his teachers.

Master Tse is also author of several books, includingQigong for Health & Vitality, Qigong for Healing andRelaxation, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Qi Journeys, WildGoose Qigong 1st 64 and 2nd 64, and Chen Taijiquanfor Beginners. He has also produced several DVDs.In addition he has been the feature of many TV andradio programmes including the BBC, ITV, Hong KongPeal TV, Komo TV, Cable Martial Arts TV and numerousnational newspapers.

Dayan QigongQigong is a Chinesehealth exercise madeup of gentlemovements that

connect with the acupuncturepoints and meridians of ourbody. The word Qigong literallymeans “energy work”. Usingrelaxation and breathing alongwith these special movements,we have Qigong.

Qigong will help you to relax and becomemore aware of your body. As we practisemore, we will begin to notice changes inour body including more flexibility, energyand stamina. This is because the Qi isworking to heal any old illnesses or injuriesand to open the channels so that the Qican flow naturally, making us feel youngerand more alive. There are many typesand styles of Qigong, but the style whichyou will learn is called the Kunlun DayanQigong system.

Kunlun Dayan Qigong SystemThere are several forms in the Kunlun Dayan Qigong system,

not only Wild Goose Qigong. Each form has its own specialemphasis. For instance, Dayan (Wild Goose) Qigong is good foroverall health and flexibility of the body. Balancing Gong is good forbeginners, helping them to learn the right posture and relaxation.Jade Pillar Gong is good for the spine and Dayan Palm is a veryvigorous form which combines soft, gentle movements with jumpingand kicking to make the body stronger and lighter. Also included inthe system are several meditation and healing methods which areused for cultivating the body and mind. In the past, there were 72forms and methods in the system and, today, just over half of thesehave survived.”

I have felt sucha difference in theway I handle mystress - really clear& relaxed.

HistoryNearly two thousand years ago during the Jin Dynasty (265-420AD),

Kunlun Shan, which is a mountain range near Tibet, was home to manyDaoists. The monks living there would spend their days studying Daoistteachings, hoping to eventually receive enlightenment and immortality.Kunlun Shan was also home to many wild geese called Da Yan (BigWild Goose). They were not normal geese, as these birds, believed to bethe Bar Headed Goose, live twice as long and fly higher than any othergeese in the world. The Da Yan became a longevity symbol to the monkswho observed these special birds closely. They began to imitate theirmovements and combine this with Chinese medicine knowledge, eventuallyforming sets of health exercises known as Dayan Qigong.

The Jin Dynasty saw the rapid expansion of both Buddhism andDaoism. One Buddhist monk named Dao An was the translator of manyBuddhist texts and connected with the Pure Land (Amitabha) Buddhismparticularly. This type of Buddhism concentrated only on chanting thename of Amitabha Buddha so that they might be reborn in his WesternPure Land. The idea of letting go of the mind and body so thatenlightenment will happen naturally follows the principles of the KunlunDayan Qigong skill. Hence, Dao An was considered the spiritual founderof the skill.

“ Qigong iswonderful. I am76 and I havebeen amazed bywhat Qigong hasdone for me inthree shortmonths.

Grandmaster Yang MeijunIt is because of this special lady that all of us have

the opportunity to learn the Kunlun Dayan Qigong. When she was 13 years old, her grandfather beganto teach her secretly, making her promise not to teachanyone until she was 70 years old as this was thepromise he had made to the Daoist monk who hadtaught him.

Although she was only supposed to pass on the skill to one other person, she had survivedthe Japan War and Cultural Revolution where many others did not. She did not want to see the skilllost so she decided to slowly open her skill to the public after the finish of the Cultural Revolution.

”I feel my mind and body are more relaxed

and strengthened and that I am able slowly toprogress, how encouraging!

What will I learn in class? When you come to class, you will see people at many different levels, somebeginners, some seniors, as everyone learns individually following asyllabus from beginning, foundation movements to more advanced.

Balancing GongThese movements form the basis of our learning, helping us to find theright posture, breathing and relaxation. Balancing Gong is good forcirculation, flexibility and balance as well as helping arthritis, backache, joint problems and coordination. These movements are based upon theprinciples of the Dayan Qigong and were created by Master Tse to helpbeginners.

Healthy Living Gong Parts I, II, IIIHealthy Living Gong is a set of exercises also created by Master MichaelTse, based upon all his years of Qigong and martial art experience. Each of the three sets of movements strengthen the body and increasevital energy, which we call Qi. Part I focuses on relaxation, Part II workson improving fitness and coordination and Part III cultivates power andphysical strength.

Wild Goose (Dayan) QigongUnlike the previous stand alone movements, Wild Goose Qigong is aseries of connected movements which make up a form. There are twoparts, the first 64 movements and the second 64 movements. The 1st64 form works on post natal illnesses and can clear up old injuries aswell. The 2nd 64 form works on prenatal illnesses, or weaknesses in thebody with which we were born. In these forms, there are a variety offluttering, shaking and jerking movements which rid the body of toxins.

MeditationWe need meditation to balance movement as movement is Yang andmeditation is Yin. When we practise forms, we open our acupuncturepoints and channels, clearing blockages and releasing the negative Qi.This means our Qi can flow smoothly. Meditation allows us to gatherand store the fresh Qi that we have gathered during our practice. As wereach higher levels, then meditation also helps to develop our wisdomand our Sky Eye potential so that we can sense more.

Qigong isso good forhealth of mindand body. When I do itregularly, itrelaxes meand I don’t getill.

Wing Chun is amartial art that

originated over 400 yearsago in the Southern ShaolinTemple. It is a clever martialart in that it relies onsensitivity, footwork andspeed to outwit anopponent, rather than usingstrength to try and controland beat them. That is whyWing Chun is ideal for thesmaller person or womanas you do not need to bestrong and powerful to win.

Wing Chun Kuen

Wing Chun is suitable for everyone, since it does not rely on physical strength. Ifwe use strength to win in Wing Chun, we are going against the skill principles. Thehigher level of Wing Chun Kuen is to use less energy to defeat the strong energy.Traditional Chinese martial arts do not use a grading system for skill. In Wing ChunKuen, it is our Chi Sau that proves our level of skill. Nor does Wing Chun requirea uniform, only comfortable clothing and footwear that we can easily move in.

Every class is a way of life for me and my life ismore interesting, healthy and fulfilling as a result.

HistoryWing Chun Kuen is named after a woman, Yim Wing

Chun, and its roots go back some 400 years to theSouthern Shaolin Temple. At that time the Shaolin Templewas home to some of China’s best martial artists and arefuge for freedom fighters who opposed the ruling QingGovernment. Its strength grew and this aroused theconcern and fear of the government and so an armywas sent to attack the monastery and wipe out the monks. At first they were unsuccessful, then with the help ofsome traitors within Shaolin, the temple was finally burntdown. Many of the monks were killed but among thosewho survived was the Abbess Ng Mui.

Ng Mui found refuge at the White Crane Temple onTai Leung Mountain near the Yunnan-Szechuan border. In a town nearby lived a bean-curd seller called YimYee and his young daughter, Yim Wing Chun. It waswhilst selling their bean-curd that they met and befriendedNg Mui. Ng Mui taught Yim Wing Chun the martial art skillthat she developed and even named it after her youngstudent.

Grandmaster Ip ChunThere is much more to the legend and there

is some debate over its accuracy, but certainlyWing Chun Kuen has become one of the mostpopular styles of Kung Fu in the world. Itswidespread popularity can be credited to oneperson, the late Grandmaster Ip Man. Duringhis younger days, whilst living in Foshan, SouthChina, he became famous for his Wing ChunKung Fu and was undefeated in any attacks. He refined and developed Wing Chun, but itwas only when he moved to Hong Kong thathe began to teach and spread his knowledge.

Ip Man taught many, the most famous being the film star and martial artistBruce Lee. Ip Man died in 1972. Since that time his eldest son, Ip Chun, hascarried on his father’s teaching. He has kept the skill he inherited true, following theprinciple of using less strength and energy to defeat an opponent.

What will I learn in class?People take up martial arts for many reasons. Some study to improve theirhealth & fitness, some to learn how to defend themselves, some for anincreased sense of confidence and others simply for a pastime. The WingChun class, with its high level of teaching and the friendly relaxedatmosphere, caters for all these differing needs.

Chi Sau - Sticking HandsChi Sau is the practical training of the applications found in the forms.Whilst training with a partner you will develop sensitivity, footwork andtiming. Soon you will begin to understand how to use an opponent’senergy against himself/ herself. Regular practice develops instinctivereactions allowing you to adapt to change without thinking. Forsuccessful self defence, this is essential. Chi Sau is like a game and is notmeant to be treated as fighting or sparring. It allows you to develop yourskill in a safe environment because you can relax and let go.

FormsWing Chun has three forms. These are Siu Lim Tao (for training stillnessand Gong Lik), Tsum Kiu (for training footwork and turning) and Biu Ji(for training special attacking techniques using the fingers and elbow).

Wooden Dummy - Muk Yan JongThe Wooden Dummy training helps us to bring together all we havelearnt in Chi Sau and forms to polish our ’fighting techniques’. It alsoallows us to practise Wing Chun kicks and train the accuracy of ourstepping and body position.

WeaponsWing Chun has two weapons: The Six and a Half Point Pole and theBaat Jam Dao (Wing Chun Knives). The more you train these weapons, the stronger your bones will become and so your Qi will develop to avery high level.

Taijiquan literally means Yin/Yang Fist. The Chen Taijiquan skill coversboth external movement and internal training and is characterisedby its unique spiral energy used to ‘throw’ an opponent away. Tobecome good at Chen Taijiquan takes practice and must includepush hands (Tui Shou) training. However, the benefits you get fromthe practice make the effort well worthwhile.

Chen Style TaijiquanIn the west,Taijiquan is

widely known as anancient healthexercise, but if youlook back in history, you will find thatTaijiquan actually hada very differentemphasis. It wasoriginally created as ameans of self defenceand was a powerfulmartial art skill. Theoriginal style ofTaijiquan is ChenTaijiquan which wascreated by the Chenfamily.

HistoryIn 16th century China there lived a man called

Chen Wang Ting. His martial arts skill was suchthat it is said that he single handedly defeated onethousand bandits. He was of the ninth generationof the Chen Family, from Chenjiagou (ChenVillage), Henan Province. After an adventurouslife as a warrior, he returned to his village todevelop his martial skills. Combining movementsfrom Qi Jigaung’s Long Fist and Daoist breathingtechniques he created five forms of Taijiquan (TaiChi) and Pao Chui (Cannon Fist). He is said tobe the creator of the original Taijiquan.

After five generations, Chen Taijiquan waspassed to Chen Changxing. He taught YangLuchan who later went on to create YangStyle Taijiquan. Later this developed intothe other styles of Wu, Woo and Sun.Together with Chen, these comprise today’sfive major styles of Taijiquan skill.

Grandmaster Chen Xiao WangMuch of today’s Chen teachings can be attributed to

Grandmaster Chen Fake. He was responsible for spreadinghis family’s skill and his exploits are now legendary. In 1957Chen Fake died and today the head of the Chen skill isGrandmaster Chen Xiao Wang, the grandson of Chen Fake.Grandmaster Chen Xiao Wang is one of the most famous Taijimasters living today. He began studying his family’s skill whenhe was just eight years old and has gone on to win several goldmedals at National Wushu Championships. His Taiji skill anddepth of knowledge is truly remarkable.

What will I learn in class?19, 25 Movement FormsThe 19 and 25 movement forms are the beginning foundation forms taughtin class. These will help to cover principles found in both the old and newframe forms and help us to learn to move from the waist and Dantian, develop relaxation and right posture.

Laojia - Old FrameIn traditional Taijiquan all forms are called Jia. Jia means frame. Laomeans old and Xin means new. Today the Taijiquan that most peoplestudy comes from the Old Frame. The Old Frame was created by the14th generation Chen Taijiquan master Chen Changxing. He combinedall the original Taijiquan forms into one long form. The Old Framecontains big circling movements which all come from the Dantian.

Xinjia- New FrameAfter more than 100 years, the great grandson of Chen Changxing,Grandmaster Chen Fake developed the Old Frame into another highlevel form which we call Xinjia - New Frame. The movements are basedon Laojia but the circular movements are smaller which makes thespiral energy both more obvious and more demanding.

Tui ShouTogether with a partner, Tui Shou (push hands) helps you train to developsensitivity. Through Tui Shou you also learn how to apply your spiralenergy and how to overcome and use your opponent’s energy to youradvantage. Eventually you learn to defend against strong attacks byusing less energy.

WeaponsChen Taijiquan has many weapon forms. These include broadsword, straight sword, spear, double sword and big broadsword. Weapon formsare taught in class after you have completed learning the beginning formsand will help you to extend your Taijiquan knowledge and use of energy.

You feel thatyou havelearned withyour whole bodyand mind aftereach session.

Chun Yuen QuanChun YuenQuan is a skill

that originated fromNorthern Shaolin andthen passed downthrough the BeijingOpera. The forms haveretained more of theirmartial qualities thanmodern Wushu and havemore intricate weaponforms such as the long-tasseled sword and longflag Dao. Chun YuenQuan is very good forhealth and will make thebody light and flexible.

Chun Yuen Quan is ideal for creating very strong Qi and fitness. It will alsolift the spirit and make you feel very good. . As we get older, it is very easyfor our bodies to become heavy and lose some mobility. However, whenthe channels in the body are open and the Qi can flow without obstruction, the body will feel light, just like a child’s.

Today we all spend too much time at the computer or in front of thetelevision. This makes us have a Yin body that can easily becomeweak or ill. Master Tse says, “When we do not challenge ourselvesenough, our bodies will only become weaker and weaker - so will ourimmune system. With weak immunity, it is easy for even a cold or flu tobecome something very serious. When our immune system and internalorgans are healthy- when our external body is strong but flexible, thenwe can manage all kinds of situations, even serious illness.”

Chun YuenQuan alwaysgives me energyand it helpsclear the mindand body of theday’s work.

Any good skill can be practised no matter whether aperson is young or old. Chinese say, “Good skill is for life.”Today, this concept is hard for people to accept as they areused to sports where only young people can stand the trainingand even then, they too, sustain injuries. With Chun YuenQuan, however, if you practise in the right way and with theright attitude, your body will only get more and more healthy,no matter what your age.

HistoryChun Yuen Quan is a martial art skill that is also very good for health. The

lineage was originally from the Northern Shaolin tradition but then passeddown to the Chinese opera where it actually retained many of its traditionalelements. Master Wu Chun Yuen, who taught Michael Tse, learned the skillfrom Master Wang Ping who was a trained the opera actors. In Chineseopera, there are many performances which portray historical events, particularly those honouring famous generals. So it was important that theactors knew genuine martial art skill so that their performance was both vividand true.

Master Wang, because of his opera training, was very flexible and light. However, due to the sensitive times in which they lived, they could not always

practise openly. SoMaster Wang devisedways to help his students to practise without it being obviousthat they were doing so. Instead of practising with a swordand long tassel, they might only use a stick with a longstring. However, this in no way stunted Master Wu ChunYuen’s skill and he developed to a very high level that notmany people can reach. Grandmaster Wu Chun Yuenwas a true martial art gentleman and his skill level wasvery high. He was also a very humble person and lovedthe martial art skill that he practised every day.

What will I learn in class?Tse Qigong Centre Warm UpsMaking the body relaxed and loose so that Qi can flow through all the channels is very important in orderto avoid injuries. For Chun Yuen we have warm up exercises that begin with opening the waist, then thejoints. Later we have different kinds of stretching for the tendons and muscles and also jumping and kickingto develop Light Gong (a light body). Master Tse has created and/or arranged these warm up movementsaccording to his deep Qigong knowledge of how Qi flows in the body and how the internal organs are vitalfor good health.

Xing Shou & Great Sadness Gong (Da Bei Gong)Two of the beginning forms in the Chun Yuen Quan syllabus which you will learn are Xing Shou and GreatSadness Gong (Da Bei Gong) . Xing Shou literally means “Style Hand” and helps to establish many of thebasic Chun Yuen postures that are used throughout the system. Great Sadness Gong works for coordinationand fitness and it is particularly beneficial for the lungs, helping to release stagnant Qi. It will help anyonesuffering from depression, asthma or other breathing problems and at the same time improve blood pressure, fitness and flexibility.

Damo StaffThe staff is a light and flexible weapon and is enjoyable to handle, even if you have never practised witha weapon before. The staff is a very typical Northern Shaolin weapon. In the past it was often carriedby travelling monks from the Shaolin temple. Today it is will help us improve our coordination, improvecirculation and balance our energy. It generates a lot of internal heat and so those people sufferingfrom damp and cold conditions such as arthritis find it a great benefit. In addition, it is great fun.

Other Chun Yuen Quan FormsThere are many other Chun Yuen Quan forms and these include Great Compassion Gong, Miju Quan(Secret Ancestor Fist), Erlian Quan, Yanjing Quan (Green Swallow Fist). There are also many weaponforms which train both body and mind. Some of these forms are Five Tiger Breaking the Gate Dao, PlumBlossom Spear and Nine Section Whip. However, the pinnacle of the skill must be the long-tasseled swordforms such as Green Dragon Sword, White Crane Sword and the Dragon & Phoenix Sword. They areelegant and stylish and would have been breath-taking on the opera stage and would captivate audienceseven today.

Hard Qigong has beenaround for many hundreds ofyears. It was a skill originallyused to train the body to

withstand strong blows and attacks inthe days when there were no gunsbut only weapons of spears, staffs,Daos (broadswords) and knives.

Today, we can see touring Shaolin Monks lying on a bed of steel spikes orbreaking spears against their throats. Whilst all this seems quite amazing,it is actually just training the body with special breathing techniques andmovements to make both the internal and external body stronger.

Hard Qigong is not just for martial artists or men wanting to be stronger. Many ladies study Hard Qigong because it can dramatically alter theirhealth for the better. It improves circulation so that they have warm handsand feet as well as giving them more stamina.

Hard Qigong

Health Benefits -Healthy Bones & Good Circulation

Because of the kind of breathing techniques involved, Hard Qigong isvery good for developing the lungs and helping such problems as asthmaand depression. It is also very good for developing the bones and energylevels so it can help reduce risk of osteoporosis.

Many people think that taking lots of supplements can make thebones very strong. However, if we do not develop more Qi than whatwe use in our everyday living, our bones will slowly get weaker withage. Bone marrow is what feeds our bones and is created from blood andQi which are connected with the kidneys. Hard Qigong creates very

How can I learn?Hard Qigong is not taught in classes - only through special seminars. These seminars are not offered every year and so one should takethe opportunity to learn when possible as it may be some yearsbefore it is offered again.

Level I Hard QigongAt this level, it is mainly breathing techniques that are used to developthe Qi and strengthen the internal organs. After reaching a goodlevel, it only takes a few repetitions of the exercises to open the bodyand to feel full of energy. This is one of the wonderful things aboutHard Qigong. Regular practice will give us a lot of stamina to workboth physically and mentally.

Further TrainingThere are seven levels of the Hard Qigong skill taught by the TseQigong Centre. Each level has its own special test to see if thestudent has reached a good standard of Qi before they progressfuther. Michael Tse says,

“When I learned Hard Qigong, we had to do many differentkinds of tests, the final one being run over by a large lorry. Of

course, it is not easy to reach this standard and it requires a lot ofdedication. A Hard Qigong test is not one you can fake or

otherwise you can be injured.”

Hard Qigong can be a very powerful skill and itrequires proper instruction. If we do not do the

movements correctly, then we will not get themaximum benefit for the time spent practising.Chinese have a saying, ‘Every poison can be amedicine and every medicine can be a poison.’No matter how good the skill, if we do not

respect it and where it came from, then insteadof getting benefit we may get something else.”

powerful Qi and so it iscan helpmany kinds of problems orconditions, including arthritis, irregular or painful menstruation, back or joint pain and even lack ofconfidence and direction, as it makesthe kidney energy strong. Therefore it useful not only formartial artists but for those wantingto benefit their health.

17

Whenever weare ill we can

generally recover withsome rest and somesimple Qigongmovements. Today, however, many of us donot allow our bodies torecover because life is sobusy. We often feel thereis no time to rest, andmore importantly, we donot trust ourselves andlisten to how we feel.

QigongTreatment

When we study Qigong we know when and how to rest as we learn howto meditate which calms our mind and spirit. We also know how to movethrough our study of the Qigong exercises. When the Qi is strong, thenillness will go and we can even help prevent ourselves falling ill in thefuture.

Qigong healing is when a Qigong master uses his Qi to heal a patient. In treating a patient, Master Tse gives his own Qi to make the patient’s Qistronger and he will also use Tui Na (Chinese Massage) to open up thepatient’s acupuncture points and smooth their channels. The patient’s Qiwill then be able to flow smoothly and any negative Qi will be released andfresh Qi recharged. In the end, he teaches the patient some Qigongmovements suitable for their condition. By practising these exercises, thepatient can regain their Qi and recover from their illness more quickly.

Master Tse has used his Qigong healing to help many people with awide range of problems and has had very positive results. People withmost kinds of problems will benefit and enjoy increased energy and health.

ChineseHoroscopes

When we are born, this time and date is representedby certain elements which we call the Five Elements. These are:- Five Elements of water, wood, fire, metaland earth. Each element has a special energy whichit symbolises and it is the arrangement of these elementsaccording to our birthdate that make us who we are.

There are two common types of ChineseHoroscope reading and these are Ba Zi and TziMei. Both use the elements of our birthdate. Soaccording to the birth time, day, month and year, we

can learn so much. We can find the career, the partner, the area to live that willsuit us best. For example, you might need to find a strong partner to supportyou and so you will make a good assistant rather than being yourown boss. Others have enough supporting elements (energy)in their horoscope that makes their position very strongand so they should not work for anyone else but havetheir own business instead.

Horoscopes can also tell us about our health, showing us the weaker and stronger times in ourlife, as well as love and children. Relationships, career, friendships, money and health are allwritten in our Chinese horoscope.

Planning your LifeAccording to your TalentsChinese astrology has thousands of years ofhistory and Chinese parents from the Emperorto the ordinary person will give the date ofbirth of their child to a Chinese Horoscopemaster to find out what is good for their newbaby and what is not good. People also checkbefore they get married that their horoscopesmatch. Today we have many problems in ourlives because we do not understand ourselvesand we do not change. However, if we want tochange our fate to make it better, we can domore good deeds to help other people, wecan practise Qigong to make ourselves healthy.

Master Tse has a great deal of experiencewith Ba Zi and Tzi Mei and has been doingconsulations for people that have helped thema great deal.

Feng Shui

Feng Shui isthe ancientChinese skillfor creating abetter livingand working environment.Literally “Feng” meanswind and “Shui” meanswater. These are thebasic elements for livingwhich are continuallymoving and flowing.

However, once these do not flow they become stagnant, creating negativeQi (energy). If you live in an area with influences that adversely affect theflow of energy, you will not be healthy and it can even bring you bad luckand affect your future. However, if you live in an area where the energy isgood, then your life will also be positive.

HistoryFeng Shui has a long history that is many centuries old. Originally,

Feng Shui skills were used for finding burial plots called ‘Yin Houses’ andwere reserved for royalty and the very wealthy. Emperors of Chinawould use the skill of a Feng Shui Master to find an auspicious burial site toensure their future generations would have good fortune. This task aloneoften took the Feng Shui master many years to do. Today, Feng Shui ismore commonly used by private individuals and businesses who areinterested in improving their health, fortunes and quality of life.

“Feng Shui helped us to use different eyes whenbuying our new home. Instead of looking only atdecorations and furnishings, we first looked at thearea around the home.

Mrs Hayes”

21

If the propertywas near a busyroad, was tight ordid not haveenough light, wewould not evenview it. As forinside, we lookedat how the spaceitself would affectour health, our jobsand even ourmarriage.

Mrs. Hayes

How it worksFeng Shui not only deals with the internal environment but the

external. If the external environment is very bad, then no matterwhat is done internally, it will not have a lasting effect. However, usually there are things which can be done to alter or help redirectthe negative Qi and enhance the good Qi. When doing a FengShui survey, the first thing Master Tse does is to make an externalviewing of the building, noting anything which can cause problems. Then, using the Lo Pan (Chinese Compass), he can tell whichdirection will bring good or bad influences. Each direction isassociated with a particular star and number.

Each star also has its own particular energy. For example, the number eight star corresponds with money. Other stars relateto illness, celebration, success, relationships, luck (good/bad),popularity, birth and death. He will then survey the inside of thebuilding and will note any problem areas.

Good Feng Shui can improve or help your health, career, prosperity and family harmony. Master Tse is available for FengShui consultations for both homes or business. He will visit yourresidence and afterwards he will prepare a written report which isbased upon the findings at the property as well as the birth date ofthe head of the house or business.

”Just as we use Qigong to tune in to our body,

Feng Shui can help us to understand ourenvironment and how we are affected by it.“
