trato pErsonalIzado
Módulo I: aspEctos

PERSONALIZED
ATTENTION
Assignment of a tutor, accessibility of the teaching staff and elective subjects guarantee quality education. The excellent scientific productivity in biomedicine of the academic and research staff who work on this master’s degree program vouch for its quality. This guarantees the rounded education of students in biomedical research, achieved by carrying out a Master’s Thesis Project, which students spend half of their study-time on.
CURRICULUM The Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research is divided into four modules, including four specialized areas: Cancer; Translational Research; Neuroscience and Cognition; Nutrition and Metabolism.
MODULE I: BASIC
ASPECTS, 10 ECTS
This is a common module for all students enrolled in the master’s degree, which includes basic and essential aspects of biomedical research: ethics, techniques and safety, animal testing and scientific communication.
MODULE II:
SPECIALTY, 15 ECTS
Students may choose from four specialized areas enabling them to develop a more specific profile that meets their interests:
· Cancer Specialty
· Translational Research Specialty
· Neuroscience and Cognition Specialty
· Nutrition and Metabolism Specialty
MODULE III:
COMPLEMENTARY
EDUCATION, 5 ECTS
Students can choose from a wide variety of elective subjects to complete the cur-riculum with subjects that of-fer a more in-depth account of specific aspects of each one of the specialties offered.
MODULE IV:
MASTER’S THESIS
PROJECT, 30 ECTS
Students carry out a research project (equivalent to the Master’s Thesis Project) in a specific area under the supervision of a professor or researcher. In this subject, students are provided with real research work experience in a laboratory, putting the knowledge acquired in the other subjects studied into practice.
EMPLOyMENT PROSPECTSResearch and industry are the main career opportunities open to graduates of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research, regardless of the specialty studied (Cancer; Translational Research; Neuroscience and Cognition; Nutrition and Metabolism).
The Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research also comprises the coursework period of three doctoral programs that have been awarded a citation of excellence by the Ministry of Education (Spain): the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Research, the Doctoral Program in Neuroscience and Cognition, and the Doctoral Program in Food Science, Physiology and Health.
