WEEK AT A GLANCE

Funeral notices are posted on the website at ccstpaul.com/funeral-notices.

PARISH SURVEY

Next weekend (Aug. 24/25), please pick up a Parish Survey after Mass.

All responses will be totally anonymous, and your feedback will be used to help us learn about your spiritual life, your spiritual needs, and how our parish can better assist you in these areas.

The survey should take no more than a few minutes of your time. Our hope is that through reflection, you may discover some things about yourself, while we learn ways that will help to shape good parish practices for the future.

ADVERTISERS NEEDED!

Bulletin Advertisers Needed!

Diocesan (our bulletin publishing partner) is working to secure NEW ads for our bulletin. We are grateful that this crucial communication piece is provided to our parish at no cost THANKS to the generous advertising support of our parishioners and community-minded businesses. Bulletin advertisers and sponsors recognize the tremendous value of connecting with our church family, and we ask our parishioners and guests to patronize our supporters when using a local service. If you would like to advertise in the bulletin, please contact Jenny Lusk at 913-205-6387 or [email protected]. Thank you!

MINISTRY NEWS

Respect Life

ARCHBISHOP NAUMANN SPEAKS OUT Chairman of USCCB Committee on Pro

-Life Activities, Archbishop Naumann spoke out this year about Catholic politicians who have signed and/or supported pro-abortion, pro-infanticide, or pro-euthanasia legislation. He did not mention any by name but was very pointed with, “If even after an extended dialogue a Catholic in public life persists in scandalous actions, I have found it necessary to request that they not present themselves to receive Holy Communion, for their own spiritual welfare and for the protection of many others from moral confusion. To receive our Eucharistic Lord, while in a state of mortal sin, only further jeopardizes the eternal fate of our souls. Sincere repentance, a conversion of heart, and a genuine effort to make amends for the harm caused by our sin, are essential to be able to receive God’s mercy.”

Food Pantry asks that our parishioners who

live in Area 5* bring food to the pantry or drop it off at church next weekend.

We are in need of: spaghetti sauce, tuna and jelly.
