Join Our Women’s Book Group “Readers” is a new book group for women of Our Lady of the Mountains parish. Our first book is The Moviegoer, by Walker Percy. Ten (10) copies of this Catholic novel will be available in the Parish Office at $4.00 apiece. We will discuss the book in one session on Tuesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. in the Church Library. Donate Your Extra Rosaries The Tucson Oblates of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration are collecting rosaries to distribute to asylum-seekers who are pass through the Tucson Benedictine monastery en route to their sponsors across the country. The refugees, who are in the country legally, are arriving with little more than the clothes on their backs. They have been incredibly grateful for rosaries to accompany them on their journeys.

Do you have any extras rosaries in your cupboards or drawers? There will be a collection box for rosaries on the library table in the Parish Hall. Thank you so much!

Musical Notes Today we celebrate the Feast of the Corpus Christi – the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The readings and music link us to the symbolic role of bread and wine from the Old Testament through Paul’s recap of the Last Supper to today’s gospel. Our hunger though will be best satisfied through Jesus’ Body and Blood. Much of today’s music is drawn from the Eucharistic section of the blue Gather hymnal. The service opens with hymn #852 “All Who Hunger, Gather Gladly”, asking us to taste and see the grace

eternal. The Responsorial Psalm is #1091 “You are a priest forever”, acknowledging Melchizedek in today’s reading from the Book of Genesis. This is followed by the Celtic Gospel Acclamation #334. The Preparation hymn sings of Jesus as the bread of life in “You Satisfy the Hungry Heart” (#940). In “Shepherd of Souls” (#910), the Communion hymn, we ask the Lord to “…sup with us in love divine.” The service closes with #615, “Holy God We Praise Thy Name”.

The Gloria is found on page 230 and the other ordinary parts of the Mass are from the Mass of Creation, starting on page 198.

During the summer months, the choir is more informal and only meets 45 minutes prior to Mass to rehearse. If you would like to participate in the liturgy through music, please join us! The next time the choir meets is the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, June 30th since Ron Fabry, OLM Music Director, is on vacation. Please feel free to reach out to any choir member for more information.

Those needs include sacramental rites, faith formation, events and activities, Mass intentions, membership information, and communication.

Skills required are excellent communication (verbal and written), computer literate, multi-tasker, love of Catholic faith, willingness to help where and when needed. Bi-lingual preferred.
