Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Welcome to Sacred Heart Church! I rejoice in your presence as our worshiping community comes together to celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for the Fourth Sunday of

Advent. We are blessed through your prayerful participation. May your faith be strengthened by this community of faith. May the Spirit of Christ, present in Word and Sacrament, lift your spirit. Thanks for joining us! As we reach the final days of Advent and turn our attention to the celebration of Christ’s Birth, I want to thank you for your faithfulness. Your faithfulness to Christ and the Sacred Heart Catholic Community has been a light in the midst of darkness. It’s been a difficult year for all those who identify themselves as Catholics. The sins of abuse committed by some members of clergy over the past sixty years and the failure of those in authority have humbled our Catholic Church. The failures of those in authority to remove abusive priests and address the suffering of victims and their families breaks our hearts and challenges our faithfulness. Although much has been done to prevent future abuse, the sins and failures of the past continue to haunt us. Know I am grateful for your steadfast faithfulness. Your continual presence and support has been a source of encouragement for myself and our worshiping community. Our remembrance of Christ’s Birth presents us with an opportunity to once again affirm our faith in Christ Jesus. The Christmas Season is a time to remember that Jesus is still present in the words of Sacred Scripture and in the Eucharist we take and eat. The humanity of the Church’s members does not diminish our Liturgy and our Sacraments. If you are joining us for our Christmas Liturgies after being absent from Sacred Heart during this difficult year, know you are always welcome, our doors are always open. On behalf of Fr. Mike, our Deacons, the I.H.M. Sisters and Staff, I extend to you and your families our prayers and best wishes for a peaceful and joyful Christmas Season.

Peace be with you! God bless,

Fr. McKee
