Veteran's Day: On November 11 the students and staff at All Saints Catholic School honored

fought for our freedom.

FAITH FORMATION

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS SEASON It’s hard to believe that Advent begins in only a few short weeks! All Saints Parish has many opportunities to be

involved in this season of joyful anticipation of our Savior’s birth.

Advent by Candlelight - will take place Tuesday, December 3 beginning at 6:30 PM. This beautiful and enchanting evening, illuminated by candlelight, will help women focus on Christ, the true light of the season. Join us as All Saints social hall is transformed into a candlelight wonderland, complete with music, an inspirational program, delicious desserts & wine. Step away from the chaos of the holiday season. Relax and refocus on the season of Advent. There is no fee to attend, but you must register by Friday, November 29th. To register for the event call Carol or register at this link by November 29th: https://tinyurl.com/adventbylight. If you are willing to host a table, please call or email Carol Brennan by Nov 16th. 920-279-0604 or [email protected]

Lighting the Advent Wreath - Once again, we are looking for people who would like to come forward at the beginning of each of our weekend Masses in Advent to assist in lighting the Advent Wreath. There is a sign-up sheet in the gathering area.

Caroling for Christ - Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 14. We will have a hay wagon to transport carolers through the city, singing and spreading Christmas cheer. Carolers will meet at the Fortifi Bank parking lot at 1:00 PM and end by 4:00 so there is time to come back for 4:30 Mass. All are welcome to participate!

Bell Ringing - Once again this year, we would like have bell ringers for the Christmas Eve Masses at 4:30PM and 7:30PM; and Christmas Day Mass at 10:00AM. At each Mass we would like the bells to be ringing a half hour prior to Mass starting. So we would need families to be here at least 30 minutes prior to Mass starting. We have 20 pairs of red mittens, scarves, and bells so we are hoping to have a group for each Mass to help greet all parishioners by standing at the doors...ringing bells and greeting "Merry Christmas" to all who enter to join us to celebrate the Holy Mass. We will have pews reserved for our bell ringers. There is a sign up sheet in the gathering area or find the link on our website to sign up.

ADVENT RETREAT AT THE GLEN: The Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, an interactive retreat experience with Julie Rudnick, author of Sacred Intercessions Prayer Journal. December 6 – 8, 2019. Fee:$180.00 (includes journal, room and meals) / $60.00 Local (includesjournal and meals). To register, contact Jennifer by December 1st. Phone: 608.356.8113 or email: [email protected]. TEC RETREAT #179 Coming to St. Cecilia, Wisconsin Dells: The date is December 27-29 with a Friday noon start. TEC (Together Encountering Christ) is an intergenerational movement of the Catholic Church especially designed to help meet the spiritual needs of Catholic Christians. Although it is an amazing experience for anyone over 15 years of age, it can be especially rewarding for those youth who are preparing for or have been recently Confirmed and those adults in the RCIA program. This is also an invitation for those who have already experienced a TEC to come and help by working. Fr. Eric Sternberg will be the Spiritual Director and Steve Davies is the Director (608.220.2088 or [email protected]). Applications and more information about TEC can be found at https://madisondiocese.org/tec Thank you.

FLAVORS OF FALL – THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU! What a wonderful day it was! God blessed us with sunshine and a perfect day for everyone to join us for delicious

soups, many delightful, hand-made crafts, and lots of tempting, tasty treats in our bakery area. Many thanks to all the ladies and gentlemen who helped us prepare for the day with so many jobs to be done: peeling and slicing

vegetables; providing us with a record number of quart jars (265) and then washing all of them, baking and frosting cinnamon rolls on Friday; setting up, especially Jerry Sitter, our maintenance fella’; washing dishes, advertising; and

clean-up. Thank you to our soup makers – great selection and many “delicious” comments. Thanks also to our crafters. You always come up with new and exciting ideas to delight our shoppers; along with the great selection of

‘sweet treats’ that people wait for each year. Thank you to everyone who helped on Saturday to serve our guests and helped in any way to truly make this a great parish event. Thanks also to all of you who came to shop and enjoy our

soups. We served 244 in the hall and sold 183 quarts of soup. Our beautiful quilt, “Star of Bethlehem” made by Jean Fehl, brought in $478 and was won by Ed Hart.

With our thanks and gratitude ~ Joanne Simon & Jane Munro
