    MASS FOR THE SALVATION OF THE PEOPLEwhich Mass is commonly called

    "I AM THE SAL VATION OF THE PEOPLE"and which was known elsewhere as the

    MASS FOR THE SALVATION OF PRINCES ANDPRELATES, PRIESTS AND MONKS, VIRGINS ANDALL THE FAITHFUL .The Office (Introit):+ "I am the Salvation of the people," salth the Lord God. "Out ofwhatsoever tribulation they shall pray to Me, I will surely hear them; and Iwillbe Their God for ever and ever." (In Paschaltide , add: Alleluya, alleluya.)Ps. "Hear My law, 0 My people; incline your .ears unto the words of I , !My Mouth." ,r "y r. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, + and to the Holy Ghost.As it was in the beginning, .both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages,'Amen. It is very meet and just, right and available for our salvation, thatwe should at all times and in all places give thanks unto Thee, 0 Lord, HolyFather, Almighty and Everlasting God. And to implore Thy clemency withbowed minds: that Thou mayest make Thy servants and handmaidens subject, toThee with all their "heart, whom Thou hast joined to us by the intimacy of holyendearment, that, filled with the Spirit of Thy Love, they may be' cleansed fromearthly desires, and may be rendered fit, by Thy gift, for heavenly blessedness.Through Christ Our Lord. Through Whom Angels praise Thy Majesty,Dominions adore, Powers tremble, the Heavens, and the heavenly Virtues, andthe blessed Seraphim unite in one glad voice in extolling Thee.     Now, while the Celebrant chants the prayers of the Canon of the Mass in a low"muttered" tone 1 a Hymn from ancient sources is sung, most usually the Hymn:"Let all mortal flesh." which is given in the Mass book.

    After the Canon and the Hymn are completed, the Celebrant begins thechant: " / I . Through ali the ages of ages.~. Amen.y. Let us pray. Admonished by saving precepts, and guided by divineinstitution, we make bold to say: ~. Our Father, Who art in Heaven,Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be Done, on Earth, as Itis in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.     Then the Celebrant continues the chant of the Embolism:y. Deliver us, we beseech Thee, O.
