Our first story tells of a loving father with two sons. One son asked his father for money, left home, spent all of his money and ended up as a pig farmer. He did not like “feeding the pig.” He decided to return home, and ask his father for for- giveness. They celebrated in joy. This story illustrates God’s love for us, even if we make mistakes. Our bible verse: “Celebrate and be happy, because your brother has been found.” Luke 15:32. And our second story about money is one we all know – the story of Zacchaeus (and right at income tax time)! The children had money bags and five coins. They gave coins away, and kept coins for them- selves. When they kept coins for themselves, no one was happy. Then Jesus came, he smiled and waved to the people and walked right up to the tree and said, “Zacchaeus … you come down, for I’m going to your house today.” He listened to God. Luke 19:5. (Money left on the altar rail goes toward supporting the following mission emphasis during the month of April.)

Thank you for your support of Kerr Konnect for the month of March. They are a low cost personalized transportation service in Kerrville. The service is provided by volunteers and our donations will help pay for driver training, insurance and software to manage requests and schedule rides.

The mission emphasis for the month of April is Mission Border Hope. Located in Eagle Pass, Mission Border Hope is run by pastor Becky Baxter-Ballou and her husband Bruce and offers many mis-sion related services in their local community and in the immediate border area. In addition to food pantry and used clothing shops, the mission offers education related services and has been instrumental in leading relief efforts in the aftermath of recent floods and torna-does in the border area. Our St. Paul's youth group has participated in a number of trips to Eagle Pass to assist in re-building homes, running bible school pro-grams and bringing Christmas to the local community in conjunction with Mission Border Hope. Becky is also the pastor of 1st UMC in Eagle Pass and the mission is supported by our annual confer-ence of the UMC. I thank one and all for your continued support of this wonderful mission organization.

Thank you, in advance, for supporting this ministry and its outreach in this community.

Blessings, Dave Rush
