No Animals After Hours in the Deposit Box
or Parking Lot Please bring animals into the Shelter to see
that they are safe by placing them in the
hands of our staff. We have no surrender fee.
Although we have cats on a waiting list for
acceptance as space is available, we have
never refused to take any animal.
Facebook Look for the Shelter on Facebook, we feature updates on
Shelter activities and pictures of our residents along with
other information.
Art Gallery Sales
Thank you to the First Street Art Gallery artists! They
donated 80% of their November sales to help the animals!
You all do great work!
Page 5 MAS News February 2020
Please consider giving a little of your time by helping with
any of the following volunteer activities.
Front Desk Greeter: We could use a couple of people to
give a day or two a week helping out at the front desk,
answering the phone and helping people with paperwork.
Cat and/or Dog Interaction: The dogs and cats would
enjoy it if people would come out to brush and interact
with them. Just sitting with them, reading a book with a
cat or dog nearby is great for the animals and it is a stress
reliever for people too!
Adopt a Room Cleaner: Helping with cleaning kennels or
cat rooms is a great form of exercise. Consider adopting
a room to claim as your pet project. Come in once or
twice a week to wash behind, under and on top of the
kennels. Clean the ceiling fan and storage cabinet
room. We will clean inside the kennel.
Can Sorting: Another way the shelter generates
income is receiving the donation of soda and beer cans
and bottles. These need to be sorted by the ones that
have a 10 cent deposit paid on them and the ones that
do not. The ones that do not are taken to the scrap
yard for the price of aluminum. But this takes time
and someone that can donate time to sort is greatly
appreciated.
