Corpus Christi – The Body and Blood of
Christ
I am grateful that we are able to welcome
people back to church and appreciate those
who have been able to return either for daily or
weekend Mass. It was a great sacrifice for us
to endure the cancellation of public Mass
during this pandemic. When we are denied the
privilege of attending Mass, we notice that
great loss in our lives. Returning to Mass allows us to be the Body
of Christ who receives the Body of Christ!
This weekend we celebrate The Most Holy Body and Blood of
Christ, often known simply as Corpus Christi! The Eucharist is that
divine mystery of God wanting to share his life with us and we
choosing to embrace the sacrifice that offers salvation! That is an
amazing gift for us to accept and share! What a gift to celebrate that
God would live among us, sacrifice himself for our sins and feed us
with his own body and blood so that we might share his life. When
we receive this awesome gift, we are reminded of God’s
unconditional love for us and that we have truly been incorporated
into the family of God.
Saint Paul tells us in the second reading that Communion is a
blessing. It is a blessing because of the sacrifice of Jesus on the
cross who instituted to his apostles to continue to offer that sacrifice
for all time. That saving gift allows us a connection with the eternal
God that repairs and renews our relationship with God. Jesus
wanted to make that possible and it is up to us to embrace the gift
that his life is to our parish and beyond!
God bless you,
Father Michael Kaluza

Totus Tuus
Cancelled After much thought and
prayer, the decision has been made
to not hold Totus Tuus this summer.
After weighing all the risks,
benefits, and logistics, we have
decided it is best to wait until next
summer to welcome back the Totus
Tuus program.
Due to the continued need to live
stream Mass for the homebound
and those vulnerable to
COVID-19, we have installed
professional streaming software
and cameras in St. Martin
Church. Beginning June 6 & 7,
Mass will no longer be viewable
on Facebook Live, but will
instead be live streamed on
YouTube.
To view Mass this weekend, or
anytime going forward, we
suggest you subscribe to the
Mary Queen of Peace YouTube
page. Detailed instructions have
been sent to all parishioners via
email and included in last
weekend’s bulletin. You can also

We are still looking for
individuals to help with this new
ministry! Training is provided.
This would be a great opportunity
for Confirmation students
looking for service hours!
