We all listen to someone and follow some sort of guidelines and principles. If it is a secular voice that propels us to get up in the morning and take up the task of the day’s agenda, then we may find ourselves off track. The advice found in the Acts of the Apostles was as true then as it is now, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Most of what we listen to in secular voices is off the axis of truth and distorted. It may sound attractive, but it is deceptive at best. Many have gone astray like sheep and need to return to the Good Shepherd. Only Jesus can offer us the gate of life, and only Jesus as the Good Shepherd can really motivate us to take on the challenges of life. If we don’t recognize his voice, we can risk facing destruction. ©LPi MASS SCHEDULE Mary Queen of Peace 3411 3 rd Ave South Daily Mass Tuesday through Friday@ 9 am Weekend Mass Sat. 4:00 pm Sun. 9:30 am Sun. 5:00 pm Oct. Mary Queen of Peace

is responding to Bishop

Warfel's invitation to join this

nationwide effort to assess, expand, and communicate

resources to pregnant moms and families in need. You will

be hearing more throughout the year. We will begin with

Spiritual Adoption on March 25th, the Solemnity of the

Annunciation of the Lord and the 25th anniversary of the

papal encyclical Evangelium vitae (The Gospel of Life).

Spiritual Adoption is a family friendly program based on an

idea by Archbishop Fulton Sheen in which participants pray

for a specific, but unknown, unborn child during the nine

months of development in the womb. The spiritually

adopted child is known only to God. We will provide

development updates throughout the nine months so you

can follow the baby's development. We encourage you to

name the baby that you are praying for. Spiritual Adoption

emphasizes the power of prayer in safeguarding life in the

mother's womb. Our prayers can also be a form of spiritual

support for both of the baby's parents. Please prayerfully

consider adopting a baby.

We will have prayer cards available for you at the table

in the back entry. Baby is growing every day. The spine

and spinal cord are growing faster than the rest

of the body at this stage. The ears and nasal

development have begun.

And God saw that it was good.

SVdP is happy to accept any precooked food,

breakfast sandwiches, burritos or any food item

that can be heated in a roasting pan and served or

placed in a bag and handed out. We are

continuing to serve breakfast and lunch M-F,

handing out a sack lunch as folks leave the

building to serve as their dinner. We also continue to serve our

Saturday brunch and now Sunday brunch. As agencies have closed

we've seen an increase in the number of folks who are now coming

daily from all over town to eat, use the bathroom, wash up, get clean

clothes and learn more about how they can prevent the spread of

COVID 19.

Here's what we need;

• Sack lunch items; bottled water, oranges, granola bars,

PB&J sandwiches(or jars of PB&J and loaves of bread), bags of

chips, etc.

• Soup; although the soup ministry is temporarily

suspended we can still use soup provided it's in quantities of 2

gallons or more.

• Individually wrapped items that contain eggs that can be

heated and handed out for breakfast.

• Consider donating financially using our website at

svdpmt.org or mail your donation.

• You can drop off items listed below M-F from 8-3 by

placing items on the North side of the building by the double doors.

• Pray for the protection of our homeless, they are more

vulnerable now than ever, as they are unable to shelter in place.

Again we thank you for all the donations of time, talent and

treasure! Feel free to reach out to me via email or the phone

numbers below.

Craig Barthel, St. Vincent de Paul, P. 406-252-1855 ext. 204

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Mary Queen of Peace Parish,

Welcome Back! Last week our Bishop, Michael Warfel,

contacted his diocesan priests to inform them that he is supporting

Governor Bullock’s lifting certain restrictions of social distancing

and areas of compliance. The lifting of compliance measures

includes us.

On Sunday, April 26th, 2020 we celebrated in our church Masses

at 9:30AM and 5:00PM. Our daily Mass schedule resumed last

Tuesday, April 28th. Eucharistic Adoration resumed in the church

beginning last Thursday.

I continue to strongly encourage parishioners who have

underlying health concerns, experiencing cold/flu-like

symptoms, or are vulnerable segments of the population, to

refrain from physically attending Mass. The Bishop’s general

dispensation from attending Sunday Mass remains in effect.

Please note in the alcove area on the inner church wall and

adjacent to the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe there is a deposit

box that you can drop your collection envelopes/monies; it is a

securely mounted metal box. Feel free to deposit your offerings

there.

Keep in mind our general guidelines:

If you are sick, stay at home

Please maintain the required social distancing

restrictions

Wash your hands with soap and water before your arrival

to church

Use the hand sanitizers when entering and exiting the

church

Avoid touching your face

Cough or sneeze into a tissue or the inside of your elbow

Strongly consider using a face covering for your

protection and others

Please continue to pray for one another and check in with your

neighbors, especially your older community members. In our

church community we continue to pray for those most susceptible

to the disease, including those already sick, our seniors, and our

caregivers. We also keep in our prayer petitions those who are

facing economic hardship, including those seeing a loss of income

and employment from the disease’s repercussions.

Thank You for adjusting to our parish guidelines. May our Most

Gracious and Loving God Hear and Answer our Prayers.

Father José Marquez, Pastor—Mary Queen of Peace Parish,

Billings Montana
