Awe is commonly defined as a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder. A moment of awe has the ability to lift us up out of ourselves and immerse us into something that causes us to wonder about ourselves, the meaning of life, and truth. Awe is an experience of connection that links us to something that is beyond the normal happenings of life. For us who believe that the resurrected Christ is present in all of life and the totality of the universe, being touched by awe can lead us to exclaim, “My Lord and my God!” Pondering the vastness of God’s presence also brings us to a profound sense of God’s mercy, which is the showering of His unconditional love on each of His daughters and sons. When we internalize this mystery, we may find ourselves standing in awe once again and feeling an intense sense of peace. ©LPi ------------------------------------------------------ MASS SCHEDULE Mary Queen of Peace 3411 3 rd Ave South Daily Mass Tuesday through Friday@ 9 am Weekend Mass Sat. 4:00 pm Sun. 9:30 am Sun. 5:00 pm Oct. Mary Queen of Peace

is responding to Bishop Warfel's

invitation to join this nationwide

effort to assess, expand, and

communicate resources to

pregnant moms and families in

need. You will be hearing more throughout the year. We will

begin with Spiritual Adoption on March 25th, the Solemnity of

the Annunciation of the Lord and the 25th anniversary of the

papal encyclical Evangelium vitae (The Gospel of Life). Spiritual

Adoption is a family friendly program based on an idea by

Archbishop Fulton Sheen in which participants pray for a specific,

but unknown, unborn child during the nine months of

development in the womb. The spiritually adopted child is known

only to God. We will provide development updates throughout

the nine months so you can follow the baby's development. We

encourage you to name the baby that you are praying for.

Spiritual Adoption emphasizes the power of prayer in

safeguarding life in the mother's womb. Our prayers can also be a

form of spiritual support for both of the baby's parents. Please

prayerfully consider adopting a baby.

We will have prayer cards available for you at the table

in the back entry. My brain foundation, backbone, spinal

column, and nervous system have started to form. And my liver,

kidneys and intestines have also started to form. My heart is

beating with my own blood! And God saw that it was good.

Reflection A person was going through a very dark time,

questioning the meaning of life, not feeling very

purposeful or worthwhile, and feeling disconnected and

unappreciated. Suddenly, they gazed up at the night sky,

found themselves in awe of all the stars and

constellations, and exclaimed, “I am here on purpose

and I am loved!” Having been brought by God to this

moment of intense connection and awareness, his life

changed from that moment on.

If we are always preoccupied with the challenges,

obligations, and stuff of daily life, we can easily miss

the wonderful opportunities when the resurrected Christ

is knocking at our door. If we open ourselves to the

fullness of experience, we will find ourselves listening

and embracing all that is around us, being caught up in

the magnificence of creation’s grandeur and knowing in

our heart and soul that God is and I am.

God is mystery, one who is beyond our grasp but at the

same time within our reach, knowable yet unknowable.

And when in the presence of mystery, there comes an

intense experience of mercy. We know deep within the

essence of ourselves — and in the very life of creation

— this beating, unconditionally accepting, life-

sustaining, profound, mysterious yet familiar presence

of love. We have found our peace. “Peace be with

you.” Breathe in and breathe out. Peace.

PRAYER PETITIONS: Pope’s April Intention:

Freedom from Addiction. That those suffering from

addiction may be helped and accompanied.

---PRAYER LINE----PRAYER LINE---- Would you like prayers for a special

person, a need, an intention, or an

illness? Your parish community is

here to help and to support you with

prayer. Our parish community has a

network of prayer ministers who

remember each day in their prayers the intentions/needs of

those who request. “Ask and you shall receive.” To activate

our prayer line, please call Marion Walton: 259-5784.

SVdP is happy to accept any precooked food,

breakfast sandwiches, burritos or any food item

that can be heated in a roasting pan and served

or placed in a bag and handed out. We are

continuing to serve breakfast and lunch M-F,

handing out a sack lunch as folks leave the

building to serve as their dinner. We also continue to serve our

Saturday brunch and tomorrow will be our first Sunday

brunch. As agencies have closed we've seen an increase in the

number of folks who are now coming daily from all over town to

eat, use the bathroom, wash up, get clean clothes and learn more

about how they can prevent the spread of COVID 19. We are

committed to the safety of all who serve as well as those

served. We have asked all our regular volunteers to stay home and

are utilizing the homeless to serve the homeless. With that said

we do not need volunteers to work in our building at this

time. However, we could still use your help in 3 ways; First,

consider donating financially using our website at svdpmt.org or

mail your donation to the address below. Second, you can drop off

items listed below M-F from 8-3 by placing items on the North side

of the building (facing the RR tracks), please set items outside

against the building (by the double doors) and we will grab them

throughout the day. Third, pray for the protection of our homeless,

they are more vulnerable now than ever, as they are unable to

shelter in place. It's important to follow the Governor's mandate

that folks stay home, especially high risk folks. However, some of

you have already told me you would be dropping off items, thank

you!

Here's what we need;

Sack lunch items; bottled water, oranges, granola

bars, PB&J sandwiches (or jars of PB&J and loaves

of bread), bags of chips, etc.

Soup; although the soup ministry is temporarily

suspended we can still use soup provided it's in

quantities of 2 gallons or more.

Individually wrapped items that contain eggs that

can be heated and handed out for breakfast. Again we thank you for all the donations of time, talent and

treasure! Feel free to reach out to me via email or the phone

numbers below.

Peace to you! "We give priority to the poorest of the poor and

those most rejected by society" Craig Barthel, St. Vincent de

Paul. P. 406-252-1855 ext. 204
