THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER In prayer you call upon a Father who judges each one justly, on the basis of his actions. Since this is so, conduct yourselves reverently during your sojourn in a strange land.” If we are to recognize Christ in the world, we must come to recognize him in the breaking of the bread. If God is to recognize us in the world, it is in the life we lead. Stewardship is the living out of the values we profess. If the Lord were to seek evidence of our faithfulness, would such evidence be

forthcoming? Once again, if we truly believe that our ultimate goal is eternal life, we must live in this world as people on a journey. By supporting the work of the pilgrim Church on earth, we come to full membership in the Church triumphant in heaven. Parish Satellite Library Easier To Access Most books from the Parish Library are in the process of been relocated to the Usher’s Room/ Satellite Library in the church. This move will make it more convenient for parishioners to select reading material. Access to this collection

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Offering Option

A few of our parishioners have their offerings to our parish set up as

“automatic” checks from their banking institution. We receive a

check from their banking institution at set times and for set amounts,

as predetermined by the parishioner. This type of giving saves the

parishioner from writing manual checks and also does not cost the

parish anything. The automatic checks are posted to our

parishioner’s donation record, just as if a manual check had been

written. If you think you might be interested in this option for your

support of the parish, please ask your bank to help you set this

up. We are told it is very easy.

Most online offering programs typically charge the parish a 4%-5%

fee off the top. If we used that type of program, an offering of

$50.00 would yield about $47.50. Instead, we avoid this fee by

receiving automatic checks, as described above. Thanks to all our

parishioners for your continued support our parish in this very

uncertain time!

Catholic Relief Collection Postponed

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the public suspension of Masses, the annual collection for Catholic Relief Services in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, scheduled for the weekend of April 25-26, 2020, has been moved to the weekend of November 7-8, 2020.

them in the “In loving Memory” section.

The cost is $52.00 per entry and will remain

Knights of Columbus Measure-Up Campaign 2020 The Fairborn Council 3724 is asking for your support of our

annual Measure-Up collection for “Citizens with Developmental Disabilities” held during the month of April (the official public portion of this fundraiser has been postponed.) Although the designated envelope is in the April section of your church collection packet. This is the Knights of Columbus “flagship” charity. The three organizations that our council has chosen to support are Four Oaks Early Childhood Developmental Center, Fairborn, FF Mueller Residential Center and Early Intervention /Family, Springfield.

If You Can’t Receive Communion, Make a Spiritual Communion “Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.”

Act of Spiritual Communion The Church encourages frequent, even daily, Holy Communion, but if at any time we cannot go to Mass in or out of this season of the coronavirus, we can still unite ourselves to the Eucharist through making a spiritual Communion. By making an Act of Spiritual Communion, we express our faith in Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist and ask him to unite himself with us. Here is the Act of Spiritual Communion written by St. Alphonsus de Liguori:

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
