INVEST FOR IMPACT
Over the years, Mary Baldwin has evolved.
But at her core, she has remained the same:
Mary Baldwin empowers leaders to pursue
lives of purpose in a changing world.
We are absolutely committed to our rich
heritage as a women-centered college.
Since 1842, through courage, resilience, and inventiveness, Mary Baldwin has creatively and nimbly maintained relevancy to each new generation of students, seizing a place within the greater higher education community.
Relevancy is a constant adaptation:
A foresight to see the world differently . . .
to see the world changing before it changes.
This is why over the years we have stayed ahead of the changing world, becoming accessible and relevant to new generations of students.
Now it's time to open our doors to the next generation of students, tomorrow's leaders, as we build enrollment to 2,500 students by growing existing programs and launching new, cutting-edge degrees.

In 2025 Mary Baldwin will be a distinctive small university unlike any
other in Virginia, preparing 2,500 enrolled
students to be tomorrow’s leaders.
This vision forges a transformational leap forward by:
• Elevating the prestige and positioning of Mary Baldwin University.
• Fundamentally transforming our business model to a sustainable financial position to steward and invest in her future.
• Reinventing and strengthening our core operational model whereby each segment of the institution operates on a net positive annual basis (including the residential college).
• Forging the leading edge of changing needs in higher education, global society, and the workforce.
• Creating the cutting-edge core programs of tomorrow.

Our transformational vision will be achieved by forging the leading edge of changing needs in higher education, global society, and the workforce
through the creation of cutting-edge core programs of tomorrow.
We are an agile, entrepreneurial university continuing to evolve through creative relevancy. We will be advantaged by strategic partner-
ships with corporations and other colleges and universities.

WHY 2,500 STUDENTS?
Research documents that 2,500 is an enrollment sweet spot for smaller, private colleges; this scale ensures a level of ongoing financial sustainability.
KEY AREAS OF GROWTH AND FINANCIAL IMPACT
Achieving this tuition growth requires fundamentally changing our business model whereby each segment of the institution operates on a net positive annual basis. Bringing the residential colleges to this point will require increased prestige for MBU, comprehensive repositioning of our approach to a
vital liberal arts education in the 21st century, improved retention, and lower financial aid discounting.
Where will the growth occur?
