Marvel Grange 2016 Outstanding Community Citizen – Good Neighbor

Award John McKay is this year’s recipient. He was nominated for an act of kindness this past winter. His neighbors were stuck in their driveway and he noticed and pulled them out. Then he brought his backhoe and plowed out their snow packed driveway so that they could get out to get propane tanks, gas cans and water bottles refilled. The neighbors had to call on John again when the Oilfield people took out tanks and left a watery muddy mess that could not be driven thru and restricted their access to the county road to refuel. John came over with rocks and dirk to make the road passable and again plowed them out and pulled their van and truck out when stuck. He has plowed other out on his way to his home after having worked a graveyard shift the night before and heading back to work that night.
