ThemeThe theme of this is diversity. As Jonas had begin to grow up he paid no attention to the differences between people, some members of the community thought that it was rude and disrespectful to pay close attention to the different people, lastly as Jonas acquired memoirs he later realized that some differences are to be celebrated and not ignored.

Conflict (Man vs. Self)The conflict arises when he realizes that he receives memories. He begins to mentally revolt certain restriction placed on the community and its people.

Conflict & ResolutionThe Main conflict throughout this book is that when Jonas comes to the realization of what is happening to the new children during the Release, he realizes that this is actually killing them instead of making them live longerThe resolution is when Jonas takes the New Child Gabriel and left the community in order to save him from being released

Over-all I think that this is a very good book. It taught me not only to not to look at people who are different to you but to respect them because the might be special in some type of way. This book also opens up a new door for me because I learned how different people live and the variety of cultures. I think that all student should someday read this book because it is very good and I would recommend it to people. Reflection
