MARSHALL ES 2016 SUMMER READING LISTS:

Dear Marshall ES Families,

It’s time to talk about summer reading!

The purpose of the PWCS Summer Reading Program is to encourage students to enjoy quality

literature and to continue developing their independent reading skills. Student participation in the

program is voluntary. Students who choose to participate in the program are required to read

a minimum of five books.

Students participating in the program will compile a list of books they read. The documentation

must include the author, the title, and an adult’s signature indicating that the student has

completed the reading.

Students who participate in Prince William County Public Library's Summer Reading Program, the

Public Library documentation will apply.

In K-2, the students will receive an extra S+ for each book completed, for a maximum of five.

Students in 3-5 will receive an extra “A” for each book completed, for a total of three. The summer

reading documentation must be submitted by the student the first week of school.

The following titles have been chosen as suggestions for summer reading by Miss Haggerty. Other

books chosen by the student with help from a parent, guardian, or librarian are also

acceptable. If you have any questions about summer reading, please contact Miss Haggerty
