overviewAtBC markets your products to consumers, travel trade and media—both domestically and internationally—using brochures, websites, advertising, trade show attendance and through special events such as the Klahowya Village in Stanley Park.

To market your products effectively, AtBC requires you to provide information detailing the experience you deliver to your clients. By completing the forms within this package, you are enabling AtBC to effectively market your products to the world.

AtBC showcases products by the type of experience they will deliver to consumers. We do this in order to provide relevant information to consumers searching for different types of Aboriginal cultural experiences. All activities and attractions fall within the following ExpEriEncE Groups:

Î Aboriginal Arts & Culture Î Aboriginal Wilderness Adventures Î Aboriginal Hospitality

Within each of the ExpEriEncE Groups there are several ExpEriEncE TypEs. For example, within Aboriginal Hospitality you will find ExpEriEncE TypEs such as Hotels, Sweat Lodges, Restaurants and Wineries. This system will be used in AtBC’s websites and print marketing going forward. Using this system will enhance the effectiveness of AtBC’s marketing efforts which will in turn provide greater exposure for your products.

How to complete these formsThis package includes a Basic informaTion form as well as several ExpEriEncE DETail forms.

All Marketing Stakeholders are required to complete and sign the Basic informaTion form. This form provides AtBC with basic information relevant to your overall business.

Each ExpEriEncE DETail form captures information pertaining to one specific experience sub-type. Depending on the nature of your business you will be required to complete one or more ExpEriEncE DETail forms. For example, if your business operates a hotel with a gift shop and a restaurant, you will complete 3 ExpEriEncE DETail forms—one for each ExpEriEncE TypE.

When you are choosing which ExpEriEncE TypEs to use for your business, ensure that you are taking consumer expectations into account. For example, if visitors may encounter whales while participating in your bear watching tour—but these encounters are only incidental and not the focus of the tour—then only select Bear Watching and do not also select Whale Watching. In this example, if you did select Whale watching then you would be setting yourself up to disappoint visitors. AtBC will only market products in a way that will satisfy the expectations of the visitors participating in the experience.

The information that AtBC requires for many of the ExpEriEncE TypEs is similar. For that reason, many of the different ExpEriEncE TypEs use the same ExpEriEncE DETail forms. They are grouped by the type of activity. For example, Gift Shops, Art Galleries, and Artist Studios all use the Shopping ExpEriEncE DETail form.
