The first question I asked was ‘what is you gender?’ out of the 12 people 9 of which were female and 3 were male, no one chose ‘prefer not to say’, I will target my coursework towards females as I have more feedback from them, in order to get a response from more males I could send my survey to more people and more genders.

The second question I asked was ‘what age are you?’ there was a range of answer choices, I chose to use the age brackets 15 or under, 16-18, 19-25, 26-36, 37-4=, 40-60 and 61+, 12 people answered this question, 9 of which were between 16 and 18, 1 person fell in the bracket of 37 - 40 and 2 people fell in the 40-60 bracket. I think in order to improve this question I should of widened the age brackets, specifically the 40-60 as one of the two people who answered told me they think it was too much of a gap, I will target my coursework towards teenagers as I think that’s the age range which watches music videos most frequently and as I have more feedback from them, in order to get more responses from another age range could send my survey to more people and more ages.

The third question I asked was ‘Do you watch music videos frequently?’ there was 4 different answer choices, I chose to use ‘yes’, ‘no I don’t listen to music’, ‘no I only listen to the song, I don’t watch music videos’ and ‘sometimes’ The most popular answer was yes, with the second most popular being sometimes, however one person said that they do not listen to music. Unfortunately one person skipped this question. My feedback was positive as a range of people chose to say yes and that’s what my coursework is on. In order to get more responses I could send my survey to more people

The fourth question I asked was ‘If you do, where do you watch music videos??’ there was 5 different answer choices, I chose to use options including ‘youtube’, ‘televison channels’, ‘when I come across one on a social media site such as facebook’, ‘I don’t’ and ‘a phone software’ Only two of the 5 options were selected, youtube gained 75% percent of peoples selection and television channels had 25%. My feedback worked well as I now can advertise the song on youtube and mention television channels.

The fifth question I asked was ‘What social media sites do you use the most?’ there was 8 different answer choices, I chose to use ‘Instagram’, ‘Facebook’, ‘Twitter’ and ‘BBM’, ‘Snapchat’, ‘Pinterest’, ‘Tumblr’ and ‘None’ The most popular answer was twitter, with the second most popular being facebook, these two are the most popular social media sites, nobody picked the choice that they do not use any form of social media which means I can advertise on social media. I think the responses I received were successful as Im able to identify that facebook and twitter was most popular responses which is where I would promote my work and gain responses for my evaluation.

The sixth question I asked was ‘what is your preferred genre of music?’ there was 9 different answer choices, I chose to use ‘Rap’, ‘RnB’, ‘Pop’ and ‘Dance/house’, ‘Hiphop’, ‘Jazz’, ‘Rock’ and ‘Indie’ The most popular answers was pop and dance/house, Which is what my music video will be on. Nobody chose jazz or classic fm. In order to get more responses I could send my survey to more people

The seventh question I asked was ‘In a music video, who would like it to be about?’ there was 5 different answer choices, I chose to use ‘a romantic couple’, ‘a group of friends’, ‘a mixture of people’ and ‘a single person’, and ‘Family’. The two most popular answer was ‘a group of friends’ and ‘a mixture of people’, nobody picked the choice of a single person, I think the responses I received were successful as I know that my video will be about either a group of friends of a mixture of people.

The eighth question I asked was ‘Whats your ideal setting for a music video’’ there was 5 different answer choices, I chose to use ‘a beach’, ‘a house’, ‘a house’, ‘a party’, ‘a park’ and ‘a town/street’ The most popular answer was a party. However nobody picked the choice of a park. I think the responses I received were successful as I now know that the majority of people would prefer a music video set at a party, which sets the scene to my dance/pop song. In order to get more responses I could send my survey to more people

The ninth question I asked was ‘What props would you like to see in a music video. There was 12 different responses and they were each answered in a comment form. The answers including, ‘animals;, ‘party items and fun items’, ‘fun props’, ‘im not so sure’ & ‘no idea’, ‘real props’ and a range of others including ‘props associated with a house party such as alcohol, lights, balloons and friends’. My responses were fairly good as the majority of them include party props which will link in with the music video im going to create

The final question I asked was ‘What do you do when you like a music video?’ there was 6 different answer choices including ‘share it on a social media site’, ‘nothing’, ‘tell a friend’ ‘download the song’, ‘buy the song’ and ‘other’. The most popular choice was to tell a friend, followed by sharing it on a social media site. I think the responses I received were successful as I gathered that people do discuss music between one and other, however if I was to ask more people , I may gain more responses.
