Total income rose 21.14% to Rs 19,333.57 crore in Q2 September 2019 over Q2
September 2018. The result was announced after market hours on 22 October 2019.
Bajaj Auto rose rose 1.42%. The company's consolidated profit after tax rose 22% to
Rs 1,402 crore on a 4% decline in revenue from operations to Rs 7,707 crore in Q2
September 2019 over Q2 September 2018. EBITDA fell 9% to Rs 1,305 crore in Q2
September 2019 over Q2 September 2018. The EBITDA % fell to 16.9% in Q2

front, India has moved 14 places to be 63rd among 190 nations in the World Bank's
ease of doing business ranking released on Thursday on the back of multiple
economic reforms by the Narendra Modi government. The country's score improved
from 67.3 last year to 71.0 this year, as per The Doing Business 2020 study, released
by the World Bank on Thursday morning. However, it failed to achieve government's
target of being at 50th place. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA)
chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, 23 October 2019,
approved the increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for all mandated Rabi
crops (the crop which are grown in winter and harvested in the spring) of 2019-20 to
be marketed in Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2020-21. The increase in MSP for Rabi
Crops for RMS 2020-21 is in line with the principle of fixing the MSPs at a level of at
least 1.5 times of the all India weighted average cost of production (CoP), which was
announced in the Union Budget 2018-19. This MSP policy whereby the farmers are
assured of a minimum of 50% as margin of profit is one of the important and
progressive steps towards doubling farmers' income by 2022 and improving their
welfare substantively. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) sees
Indian economic growth rebounding t 10/25/2019 2/2 around 7% in the next financial
year, supported by measures like monetary policy stimulus and corporate income
tax cuts. The recent tax cuts, government's progress in addressing lingering
weaknesses in the financial sector and measures to support growth sectors are seen
as factors underpinning growth in the near term.
Overseas, US durable goods orders tumbled by 1.1% in September after rising by a
revised 0.3% in August, a report released by the Commerce Department on Thursday
showed. US initial jobless claims dipped to 212,000 in the week ended October 19th,
a decrease of 6,000 from the previous week's revised level of 218,000, the Labor
Department reported on Thursday.
The European Central Bank (ECB) kept rates unchanged on Thursday. The central
bank also kept its forward guidance unchanged, suggesting that its main interest
rates will remain at their current or lower levels until there's strong evidence of a
pick up in prices.
