• Spanish Barley Core Collection: 159 inbredlines from landraces (148 6-row, 11 2-row), 16 old cultivars

• Accessions are landraces, mostly collected in the first half of 20th century, prior tointroduction of modern cultivars, many ofthem by H.V. Harlan

• Passport data available

• Collection phenotyped for over 30 agronomic, morphological and quality traits (poster), andfor disease resistance

• Association mapping, taking into accountpopulation structure: multiple regression ofmarkers on trait variables, with probabilitiesof ascription to each population (Q) forcedinto the model.

• Multiple testing: Bonferroni, FDR

– Powdery mildew, RILs population through SSD, currently in F5-F6 (IER-BAZ)

– Scald, DH populations in development by G Schweizer (LdL Bavaria)

• Continue association mapping. Results encouraging. More markers, more individuals?
