Marking past videos

I have been given a mark scheme and marked the following videos and to what I think they deserve.Here is the criteria for level 4:

message in a bottle• I gave this a mark of 30• There is a good range of shots which are steady and well framed• There was good display of focus pulling• The lip syncing was a little out• It had a good link between the imagery and the song• I thought there could have been I a little more happening to keep the audience interested. The shot of

the girl taking off her necklace was a bit long and could have been shortened• good transition between band members• Used crosscutting well between narrative and band• A couple of shots were overexposed• could have explained the story of the train tickets with more narrative• It got 38 - I was a little harsh with 30, but this was the first one I marked so I was going on my own

opinion rather than the mark scheme and didn’t know what to expect.

the past six years• I gave this a mark of 27• The car window shot is very cliché. We got told to avoid this in our music videos. The

use of editing on this was effective with the flashes• The lip syncing is way out and makes the video look unprofessional• good use of filters but not outside - lack consistency• A few of the shot were overexposed - could use a filter• good framing of shots• The narrative is not clear, don’t know why he’s burning the photo and what the story

behind it is• Repetitive with the guitar and picture• could have sped up the photo when it was burning because it was too long, but great

use of editing when rewound.• understanding of genre• It got 28 marks

ms mr hurrican - 33• lip syncing was mostly in time except from the end• There is a good use of editing displayed, for example, the inclusion of cloning

and superimposition• There are a couple of dark shots which are a bit pixelated• I like the silhouette part and it fits with the songs genre• There’s good framing of shots• She has thought about the usage of different locations• It was repetitive with the dancing• Generally steady shot• It got 32 marks
