FM.3 The Material and the Code, A Symposium on Cinema and New Media University of Chicago, Film Studies Center, February 26 & 27 2010 FM.3 is a time-based composition in image and sound that presents a suite of algorithmic video images and statistical audio collage. FM.3 includes a coda composition, titled “The Inside,” which in the inaugural exhibition was followed by a live performance and presentation in surround sound. “FM.1” was produced through a fellowship with the Brown University Music Department in 2003. Images and sounds that appear in FM.3 were sampled from major north american television news sources and reflect the WTC disaster and the first night of the 2003 Iraq War. He has taught at the RISD Digital Media program (2004-2006) and the Brown University Department of Visual Art (2005-2006). In 2001, he was awarded a master's fellowship to the Brown University Computer Music Program to pursue sound and image composition. Currently, Mark Domino lives and works in New York City, where he continues to create artworks and consult on a variety of design and technical projects.
