WHAT IS LA MARJOLAINE? La Marjolaine is an institution accredited by the Youth Aid Administration (Service d’Aide à la Jeunesse) which provides a home and a place of welcome for around 20 children aged 6 to 17 whose circumstances oblige them to have to cope with a serious lack of structure in their family, acts of abuse, serious family conflicts, etc. The encouragement that PwC offers them forms part of its Corporate Responsibility Programme. PwC’s support takes the particular form of recreational activities, visits of discovery in the corporate business world and afternoons helping the kids do homework and improve their reading abilities. Profits from the PwC gala dinners are regularly used to improve the amenities and opportunities for the kids of La Marjolaine and give them a sturdy leg-up on their path to self-improvement, self-awareness and respect for themselves and others.
