From the Principal Dear Parents and Guardians, The Colin House Mass, Senior Prizegiving, Leavers’ Mass and dinner were all very special occasions. We gathered to celebrate as a school community, reflect on the school year, acknowledge our top achievers and pay special tribute to those students who are leaving to begin the next stage of their journey. We congratulate all those students, who through their achievements and efforts throughout the year have exhibited the characteristics of the ‘Marist Woman.’ These girls make a sincere effort with their academic studies, are involved in the wider life of the College, have a positive attitude and are always supportive of others. We were also delighted to announce the recipients of generous scholarships from the Marist Sisters, Anne Duncan and our tertiary providers. We hope the external examinations go well for all girls and that they will be rewarded for their diligence, focus and preparation . Mā te atua koutou e manaaki. May our God bless us all. Mufti Day Fundraising 20 October 2017A huge thank you to everyone involved in a very successful Mufti Day Fundraiser for the Marist Network Foundation and Catholic Caring Foundation. Special thanks to Junior and Senior Vinnies who gave up their time and effort to promote, organise, and produce yummy baking for our bake sale, and to Rex Woodward for running the sausage sizzle BBQ. With everyone’s effort and generous giving we raised a fantastic $1700. Well done Marist College.

Heian Girls’ High school came to New Zealand for a cultural visit. They were home stayed for two nights by Marist families as an introduction to life in New Zealand and then spent a day a Marist College before experiencing a farm stay and the thermal wonderland of Rotorua.

Between prize giving and exams it was a pleasure to welcome the 50 girls from Heian High School, and their teachers to Marist College. 9R and 9T acted as buddies for the day. The girls were given a Liturgical welcome after which they got into four groups and introduced themselves through a speed dating activity and an orientation around the school.

Drama, Te Reo, Dance and a Japanese cultural exchange were the four activities that these groups participated in as well as sharing their break times. Our girls were delighted to learn about Japan from their buddies, while the Japanese girls enjoyed the physical nature of the activities offered.

By 3.00pm a tired but happy group of friends gathered together to say their goodbyes before our visitors departed. Many thanks to all those, teachers and students, who helped to make this visit a success.
