    Washington After the longest space exploration mission inhistory (Nov. 28, 1964-Jul. 14, 1965), the National Aeronauticsand space Administration's Mariner IV electronic signals toEarth were arriving with a signal strength of slightly less thanone billionth of one watt. Supersensitive receivers, coupledwith the big Deep Space Network antennas, were able to homein on the Mariner signal, faint as it was, and amplify it fortelemetry processing, recording and relay, via a ground communi-cations system, to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory Missionf !f n -h > T' 1 Pa s a r 3 < = n a .
