A few pebbles have been broken, probably when they were still soft-bodied. In this case, the crack section is a clear evidence of the anatomy of a fossil squid, similar to that of a modern one (REF. : figure 5, The Development Of The Squid, by W. K. Brooks, Boston, The Boston Society of Natural History, 1880).
Alguns seixos aparecem quebrados. A quebra talvez tenha ocorrido quando ainda eram de corpo mole. Neste caso, a respetiva secção revela com toda a evidência a anatomia de uma lula fóssil, semelhante à de um exemplar vivo (REF. : figura 5, O Desenvolvimento da Lula, de W. K. The largest number of embryos found in this local is, by far, relative to specimens not bigger than about 2 cm. A small number has different morphology, as displayed by the pictures above. Certain are probably fossils of infant vertebrates that coexisted with molluscs in the same habitat. The scarce remains of fish we found here strengthen that probability. Many niches of tiny embryos may be seen on the surface of sediments of clay and sand (this is not the case with the location we describe) or on petrified organic matter as the figures below illustrate. In both cases, fresh embryos would have been deformed under the weight of sedimentary masses before petrifying. O maior número de embriões encontrados neste local é, de longe, relativo a espécimenes que não têm mais de 2 cm. Um pequeno número exibe morfologia diferente, como mostram as figuras acima. Alguns são provavelmente fósseis de vertebrados infantes que coexistiram com moluscos no mesmo habitat. Os escassos exemplares de peixes aqui encontrados reforçam essa probabilidade. Vê-se inúmeros nichos de pequenos embriões em sedimentos de areia e argila ou à superfície de matéria orgânica petrificada, tal como mostram as imagens seguintes. Em ambos os casos, os embriões frescos terão sido deformados sob o peso das massas sedimentares antes de petrificarem.
