V9112 MARINE MASTERThis, the most popular Glomex TV Antenna, hasbeen chosen as standard equipment by all majorboat builders worldwide. New for the 2000, arevolutionary state of the art antenna element andamplifiers produces exceptional performanceon all channels, including the lower VHFfrequencies. Also, it allows to receiveradio programs using the dueaccessories.In order to ensure lifelong service andprotection fromthe harsh marineenvironment thereare no active componentsin the antenna and the radome is made of UVresistant, injection moulded white nylon. The new power supply/amplifiers are designedspecifically for boats and can accept an input fromdockside cable, a satellite receiver or VCR(V9112/00). It features an exclusive bypass(V9112/00) that allows the TV set to use theantenna only for receiving in strong signal areasthus avoiding the attenuation of the signalintroduced on the TV set when the amplifier is notfitted (min gain). Also the A/B switch (Version9112/AB) allows the other television systemsexisting on board like the cable, the dock and thesatellite antenna to integrate into one system onlyavoiding two different plants in order to savemoney.

ALOUD SERIESThere is no compromise in the manufacturing of theseantennas. The tapered stainless steel whips canabsorb physical shocks without bending.The fibreglass version has a glossy polyurethanecoating to provide extra corrosion protection for theinternal copper elements. The Glomex exclusiveweatherproof solderless connector (*) allowsinstallation without soldering so it simplifiesthe replacement of existing antennas. Theseindividually tuned antennas are supplied withall of the parts necessary for installation. We supplyonly high quality RG58 C/U (MIL C17) coax cablewith our ALOUD product line. These antennas are alsoapproved for marine use on grounded andungrounded installations (sail and power boats) by theNetherlands Postal Service.

Glomex has come up with the perfect solution to safety control your antenna position. At the touch of aswitch, the Glomex Electric Antenna Mount (EAM) will automatically raise or lower your 8 ft. VHF, GPS,Cellular and Loran antenna a full 90 degrees or any point in between. The EAM unit is a self contained unithoused in an attractive all aluminium epoxy coated module. It is retrofitable into an existing ratchet mountbolt pattern either in a horizontal or vertical position. The unit contains a built in friction lock mechanismwhich allows the antenna to be lowered also manually, helping prevent possible accidental damage to theantenna or EAM. Glomex Synthesized spherical bronze Ground plates are the necessary interface between electric andelectronic board devices and the dissipator element: water. The Bronze micro-spheres realize a hugecontact surface with the dissipator element (water), given by the sum of the surfaces of all the bronzespheres; in fact, supported by the porosity of each ground plate, water penetrates into the plates touchingthe surface of all the spheres. This kind of construction provides more efficiency than the smooth groundplates. Transmitting and/or receivingequipments include three distinctparts, all equally important.These are: the transceiver, thecoaxial cable with its connectorscarrying the signal to or from theantenna, the antenna itself.To the present day cables,connectors and antennas oftendo not get the attention theydeserve. Yet, their functionalityhas a notable effect on theperformance of the whole system.A wrong antenna, poor qualitycoax cable or a low qualityconnector can waste the moneyspent for good equipment and acareful installation. At everyfrequency, besides being freefrom obstacles, the antenna hasto meet precise electrical andelectronic requirements.Glomex has always made everyeffort to develop design andmanufacturing qualities toimprove antenna performance;besides complying with existinginternational standards. Thismeans better performance of theentire transceiver system. Whenchoosing an antenna, it isadvisable to discuss with yourdealer, about all the problemsconnected with the installationand the type of transceiver. Thiswill let you tackle any problemsbefore they arise. In case this sortof advice is not available, theinformation provided belowshould be helpfull in selecting theright antenna.

HEIGHT

For VHF and UHF transmissions,range, the higher the antenna ispositioned, better are theperformances.Following such instructions it willbe easy to make the right choice,original Glomex cables andaccesories as well as the correctinstallation will be then decisivefactors for obtaining the bestresult.

GAIN

It is the most important specs ofthe antenna. COAX CABLE CUTTING

Cutting the Glomex antennacoax cable is no problem, justremember that a shorter cableenhance the performance of theantenna.The cable can be cut following asimple rule, do not cut the cableless than 2 mts (7’) on VHFantenna. Avoid to cut the cableon C.B. antennas any problemto cut the coax on TV antennas.

DC GROUND

It’s referred to the design of theantenna, for avoiding staticelectricity buildup on the antennaelement, in order to reduce thenoises on the receiver. Whentested with an ohm-meter allGlomex VHF, CELL-PHONE andCB antennas will show continuity.ALL GLOMEX VHF AND CBANTENNAS HAVE A BUILT-INGROUND.

SWR (Stationary Wave Return)

All the SWR ratios indicated inthis catalog depend uponantenna location on the boat. Allantennas have to be clear in alldirections and at least 1 meteraway from metallic parts. TheSWR, when tested, should notexceed 1:1,3 with the antennainstalled on the boat.

The best position for the antennais to center it as low as possibleat the center of the boat.
