WHAT IS THE GENERATION GAP? The generation Gap is the difference that exist between old and young people, of beliefs, tastes, opinions and other kind of things. The gaps is widened by the technology.This phrase was first popularized in 1960’s in USA and in Europe.

Children were affected by Second World War, when television was invented.

The parents of the young people in those times had a different Outlook of the life and the technology.

COMPARE THE PARENT-ADOLESCENT RELATIONSHIP IN MEXICO WITH ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP IN US OR UK In USA and Europe life at school, and at home is different than in

Mexico. The teachers are more strict in the classroom and even with people with low economic level have access to education. And in Mexico if people don’t have money, they don’t have the opportunity for a good education.

In UK and in USA exist more respect between teachers and students and also between parents and sons. Maybe the teenagers don’t understand very well why the parents are so strict with their, but is because when their parents used to have the same age they also have rules indoors and outdoors, but the rules were stricter.

And that might be a reason, why parents don't understand to their sons, sometimes. Because we have a different point of view compared to parent’s point of view.

Now a days the respect doesn’t exist.

PARENTS AND RULES At home as in many families we as daughters have

rules, we have to have good behavior, we have to be good students, keep our room clean, and ovey to our parents.

We have to ovey many rules at home.

I have to wash my dish after eating.

We have to make our bed everyday.

If we are going to go out in the weekend we must back home before 9:30 p.m.

We can’t take friends home, only if we are going to work on some project.

We must help with some chores at home.

TEACHERS AND RULES We made an interview to some teachers about the rules that they

used to have when they were teenagers. Now they are more than 40 years old.

The interview was about who was their lifes when they were teenagers, like us. Technicaly they told us that in their time the rules that they used to have with their parents were really stricted, because to have a good relationship with them, they must follow their rules. And they must go to highschool as students. And now they go to the highshool only to do what they love to do, work in one office and in a lot of classrooms too, teaching to the students every week.

What they think is that now a days the rules for teenagers have changed, because they also think that we are freer, than before generations and that we don’t have many rules. And could be a reason of why the students are more disrespectful than before.

STUDENTS AND RULES Also we made an interview to students of the same

highschool about the same topic.

There is a big difference that exist now a day with their rules in their homes, but still exist little similarities.

They explained us that they have rules, like wash the dish after eating , make the bed, clean their room, go to the school and arrive home before 10:00 p.m.

They consider rules established by their parents are very strict . But at the same time some students said that the rules are fair. And they think that is for their welfare. But they still have a good relationship, and they try to obey them as much as possible.

But sometimes they have arguments with their parents because that reason. But then they make amends.

CONCLUSION Now a days there is no respect to parents, since my view parents are

differents than parents used to be in past generations, they are more tolerants to their sons and daughters and sometimes we abuse about that confidence.

In the past teenagers were more respectful to their parents, and teachers and to all the people they have different kind of values.

Since my point of view now the communication between parents and their children must be stronger, but technology and the necessity of the parents to work has caused the lost of that respect and values.

Finally the society should take some rules and values they used to have in the past, and this generation could be better.
