It was reemphasized to all the applicants that the NMEICT1s main goal are on the following:

Quality e-content creation,

Tools for effective & efficient access of contents by everyone.

He also explained the parameters on the basis of which the projects would be evaluated by

experts and requested all those invited to have their detailed project report for both pilot and the

full project.

The following project presentations were made by various investigators to the National Mission

on Education through ICT. They are summarized and the recommendations of the SC are given

below:

recommended for 2 course for Rs.14 lakhs for pilot.

11. Development of 40 hours e-Contents on Management in Physical Education 8 Sport

Standing Committee recommended that sufficient funds be transferred to the State Government

Education department and monitor the process of content development for two lectures in each

course proposed by the PIS. The Secretary of Education will be requested to administer the

activity and monitor the progress.

21. Pilot Project Proposal Submitted To The National Mission on Education Through ICT for Release of Funds for Development of E-Content

The revised proposal submitted by the PI was accepted in view of the fulfillment of requirement

as per the objectives of the Mission.

The SC found the proposal acceptable for pilot. However, detailed appraisal in the prescribed

format will be conducted in the next meeting of the Standing Committee to be notified.

22. A Study to assess adoption of e-learning among the learner and teacher community

Comments and observations of SC

The SC observed that it is too early to go about for this project as e-content is yet to be

developed. Further, it was also informed to the PI that some of the Pls are also working on the

same subject and Mission shall wait for the outcome before the same is considered. Further, it

was informed to the PI that the same will be discussed with the Mission Director for further

consideration.

Recommendations:

Not recommended.

16. EDUCATION THROUGH ICT AND PRODUCTION OF COURSEWARE E-CONTENT DEVELOPMENT AND VIDEO PROGRAMMES AND LOR'S (LEARNING OBJECT REPOSITORY) FOR DEGREE COURSES

Recommendations: The SC requests the PIS to write a more focused proposal on

specific topics. This proposal without any specific courses or programmes is not

recommended.

17. Development of e-LearninglOnline Teaching Material in the Subject: Political Science

Principal Investigator: Dr.Ramesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, S.K.P.G.Govt. College, Sikar (Rajasthan)

Observations & Comments of the Standing Committee: The standing committee

requested the author to prepare a set of lectures (three to four) in which the author's

understanding and experience of political science is reflected rather than reading from

existing documents on the internet. The current proposal is not recommended.

Recommendation of the Committee: Submit a DPR and a sample of three to four

lectures.

18. UG & PG CLASSES DEVELOPMENT OF E-CONTENTS FOR ANIMAL PHYSIOLOGY THROUGH ICT

Observations & Comments of the Standing Committee:

Prepare a pilot set of lectures on one course. Resubmit the' project with details of

contents for the course by providing a syllabus that addresses the national curriculum in

that subject.

Recommendation of the Committee:

Revise the project and resubmit for providing a suitable recommendation on the

quantum of funding.

19. Proposal for The Development of e-Content for Planning and Architecture Me-1 4031 01 0628

Principal Investigators: School of Planning and Architecture

Observations & Comments of the Standing Committee: The committee appreciated

the efforts of the PI in getting the courses on architecture and wanted clarification on

whether the Institute of town planning had all the faculty in the institute as resident

faculty. The PI clarified that the faculty are drawn from expert schools from different

parts of the country but would take care of the necessary coordination. It was suggested

that a detailed course-wise, lecture-wise plan of the entire programme be prepared and

leading institutes in the country identified for partnering during the pilot phase.

Recommendation of the Committee: Sufficient funds for the creation of 3 to five

courses as approved by the PAB. Detailed DPR should be submitted along with a list of

potential reviewers.

19. ICT PROJECT PROPOSAL ON DEVELOPMENT OF E-LEARNING CONTENT IN THE AREA OF ORGANISATION BEHAVIOUR & HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.

Observations & Comments of the Standing Committee: The team may tie up with

other proposals already in the NMEICT

Recommendation of the Committee: A detailed, revised DPR containing the list of all

courses and schedules be submitted. Funding for the development of one or two

courses can be given during the pilot phase.

20. Development of e-Content Of Physical Education (Graduate and Post-graduate Levels)

Principal Investigator: Syed Tariq Murtaza (Ph.D.), Department of Physical Health and Sports Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh-202002.

Observations & Comments of the Standing Committee: The project is too ambitious

for one institution to develop independently. Identify collaborative partners for the full

project from other states and where there are Institutions specializing in sports and

physical education and submit a detailed dpr with contents for all courses indicated.

Recommendation of the Committee: The SC found the proposal acceptable for Two

pilot courses. However, detailed appraisal in the prescribed format will be conducted in

the next meeting of the Standing Committee to be notified.

21. Development of E-content for Slope Engineering

Principal Investigator: DR. RAJESH RAI, DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING, INS1-11-LITE OF TECHNOLOGY, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, VARANASI - 221 005

Observations & Comments of the Standing Committee: The course contents to be

developed under other programmes such as NPTEL should be looked into to minimize

overlap and duplication. The purchase of professional software is to be discouraged.

Some of the courses proposed are unique and therefore a pilot project can be
