So Great Salvation

Hebrews 2:1-9How shall we escape if we

neglect so great a salvation?

It’s great because:

I. It Was Planned in Eternity Past.

Ephesians 1:3-7, 3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us

with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,4just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we

should be holy and without blame before Him in love,5having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself,

according to the good pleasure of His will,6to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the

Beloved. 7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins,

according to the riches of His grace…

It’s great because:

II. It was told of by the Greatest Men who Ever Lived.

To Abraham

To Moses

To David

To Isaiah

To Daniel

To Jeremiah

To Ezekiel

To John the Baptist

This Salvation is Great because:

III. It Was Introduced to Men by the Angels of God.

At His Birth

At His resurrection

At His Ascension“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same

Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)

This Salvation is Great because:

IV. There is None Other!Galatians 1:6&7, 6I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him

who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

Acts 4:12, Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

John 8:24, Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

This Salvation is great because:

V. It was Provided by the Son of God.Hebrews 10:10 - 14; 10by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.12But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,13from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.14For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

NO GREATER LOVE!NO GREATER SACRIFICE!

NO GREATER PRICE!NO GREATER SALVATION!

For He alone died for all men: Romans 5:8

…while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

He desires all men to be saved: who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim. 2:4)

He is the Savior of all men: …who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. (1 Tim. 4:10b)

He offers His Salvation to all men: For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

His Salvation is completed for all time: By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10)

This Salvation is Great because:

VI. It is Witnessed by His Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 2:4, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

2 Cor. 5:17, old things are passed away; and behold, all things are become new…

This Salvation is Great because:

VII. There is None Other!How shall we escape if we neglect (ignore) so great Salvation?

Revelation 20:15,

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

John 3:18,

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

There is no escape!

But a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10:27

John 1:12

But as many as received Him,

to them He gave the right to become children of God,

to those who believe in His name.
