8 JAPANESE ZERO FIGHTERARTIFACTS DISPLAY Six pieces ofaircraft aluminum skin removed fromMitsubishi A6M type Zero fighter. Theitems noted were removed from thecockpit section of this fighter. It wasrecovered in New Guinea in 1944. Allpieces have the distinctive red finish andthe national emblem on them, one smallpiece inscribed by GI: New Guinea,Love, 1944. Frame measures 20 inchessquare. Should be researchablethrough German Archives and willprobably prove to be a casualty. Legendhas this as this uniform was recoveredfrom the Topeka city dump many yearsago but condition does not reflect this.Loops on left chest for badge or medal.Very minor mothing but mostly in theback. We can't emphasize the rarity of afind of this nature in the contemporarymarket. Very good overall condition.Historically researchable.

Carton contains mask andoriginal cellophane wrapper, unissued,but some age soiling. Excellent forrestoration Fair to good condition withsigns of minor age but no abuse ordamage.

37 EXPERIMENTAL ARMYASSAULT VEST, CIRCA VIETNAMOlive green cotton vest, zipper front,similar to Flack Vest. Vietnam periodbut designed with multiple pockets sewndirectly to the vest. Numerous straps andloops for additional equipment, magazinepockets across the front, appears to bedesigned for removable armor plates thatare not present. Also, two canteencarriers in the back. A very unusualgarment. No visible markings, althoughmany of the fasteners are 'pull the dot'marked which would indicate U.S.origin. Unique, rare and worthy ofresearch. Excellent with no wear ordamage.

38 ORIGINAL WWI GERMAN GASMASK IN CARRIER Circular tin carrierwith hinged lid has battle damageincluding bullet and shrapnel holes.Contains good, original mask that iscomplete, celluloid lenses are notfogged, filter is intact and mask appearsunused but shows some dryness andsoiling from years of storage. Canister iscomplete with straps for attaching touniform or slinging over the shoulder.Unique souvenir that is 100 years oldnow! Fair to good.

Cavalry frontplate with crossed sabers and Unionshield on center of eagle, oak leaf spikebase with fluted spike and yellow braideddress cord. 49 WWI U.S. AIRCRAFT SPOKEDWHEELS Matching pair of spokedwheels for WWI landing gear. 'Wirewheel' construction, in good solidcondition with no missing spokes. Onewheel shows U.S. anchor proof mark byan inspector. Large hubs are intact withbearing races. No abuse or damage. Mayhave been refinished in silver paint afterthe fact but does not detract fromappearance or condition. VERY RARE!Both measure 21.5 inches at thediameter. Very good.

50 THREE PANELS RECOVEREDFROM PACIFIC ISLAND JAPANESFIGHTER PLANE Three largealuminum panels recovered from crashsite in the Southwest Pacific some timeduring the 1960s. Two pieces featuretype written description explaininglocation of the aircraft they wereremoved from and a brief history of therecovery. Includes lower wing section, apiece from the rear fuselage / tail groupfrom a Japanese Zero, and one beautifullarge wing section that features about afourth of the red aircraft nationalitymarking or common slang for this is'meatball'. Interesting and very displayworthy. A 19 x 26 inch panel, anapproximately 32 x 18.5 inch panel and av-shape piece measuring 14.5 x 25inches. Repainted areas of red, green andwhite. Good considering battlefieldrecovery.

237 RARE WWII 'GIBSON GIRL'SURVIVAL RADIO SET Uniqueopportunity to acquire classic WWIIsurvival aid utilized by both Army AirForce and Navy personnel as sea or airsurvival aid. Original padded yellowcarrier has not been opened before ourreview of this material. Still packed asissued from the factory. And is fittedwith the aerial parachute so it could bedropped from the air. It has straps andclips for attaching to the parachute bagand the static line and hook fordeployment from survival or rescueaircraft. Includes 1943 dated manual forthe radio SCR78 which was known inWWII by GI's as the Gibson Girl. Thisunit is complete, contains the generator,parachute, accessory container, wire,signal amp, radio transmitter, balloons,packing pads, kite for antenna assembly.Absolutely unmatched for rarity andcompleteness. I unlaced the top but wentno further into the pack. This is going tobe a treat for whoever wins it. Packingshows some age soiling and wear andtear but no damage or abuse. Excellentcondition.
