For the time being, the public celebration of Holy Mass is suspended in the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama through April 4, 2020. The faithful are dispensed from any Mass obligations during this time, but are encouraged to remember the moral obligation to keep the Sabbath holy that remains, even when attending Mass is impossible. This may be done by watching a Mass on television or online, meditating on the readings, saying other prayers and devotions and so forth--including the laudable practice of making a Spiritual Communion. We plan to post a weekly video English Mass and Spanish Mass on Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church Facebook page on Sundays and include information on making a Spiritual Communion in this bulletin. St. Ann School is in the middle of its Annual Appeal. Our goal this year is $60,000. To date we have raised $7,744 (13%). Please consider donating using the envelopes found in the church pews and select your donation to St. Ann Educational Foundation. All proceeds go to benefit the school.

If you would like to volunteer your time and talent for a great cause to build our community, St. Ann School is also looking for volunteers to help with the Seafood Fiesta Fundraiser. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY April 19th, 3:00 - 4:00 PM

On September 24, 1939, Jesus told St. Faustina: “My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.” 699

St. Ann School Annual Appeal $7,744 JUST IN TIME FOR WARMER WEATHER

Our new chiller was delivered and installed this past week. (You may have noticed the crane last weekend.) Thank you for your generous support of this project. Since June 1, 2019, we’ve collected $189,049. We are waiting for the finalized invoice for the new chiller installation, but have already paid $91,000 as a down payment. Thank you for your commitment to maintaining our parish’s facilities. Our next project will be to repair/replace the leaking roof.
