4-H Livestock update

Major Livestock Shows

As we start to see the light of the tunnel of this year's show, Ward County 4-H was well represented at the San Angelo & San Antonio Livestock show during the month of February.

San Angelo Livestock Show: Ward County had a grand total of 9 Livestock exhibitors (3 Goats, 5 Lambs, 1 Heifer, 1 Gilt, & 1 Barrow). Exhibitors came home with the following placings: Trinity Coultson 2nd place Chi Heifer, Kayden Pesina 8th place Dorper Lamb, Joseph Venzor 3rd Placed Wether Southdown Dam, and Kayden Pesina 10th place Market Goat. Unfortunately, youth who were planning on participating the San Angelo show with their market barrows were unable to attend the show due the winter weather mix that effect the State during that time.

San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo: Once again, we were well represented down in San Antonio at the livestock show with a grand total of 19 exhibitors (3 Goats, 3 Lambs, 3 Steers, 1 Heifer, 7 Gilts, & 2 Barrows). Trinity Coulston placed 7th with her Maine Anjou Steer and our other exhibitors did their absolute best in the ring, but they came up a little short with the judges. Ward County 4-H was also well represented at the San Antonio Youth Rodeo, which was also held during the same time as the major livestock show. Harlee Clark competed in the following events: Barrels, Goat in & Breakawa .
