Service Overview• Most proposed service changes adjust bus travel

times and/or route alignments to improve schedule adherence and to better address trip needs.

• Service changes include some restructuring, and/or schedule adjustments.

• Routes included in the proposal are 393, 394, 395, 401, 402, 461, 466, 599, 640, 642, and 644.


Service Highlights• Route 395 – Add additional AM and PM weekday rush

hour service to reduce passenger crowding; • Running Time Adjustments to Improve On-Time

Performance– Route 401, 402 – Backlick – Gallows (running time)– Route 461 – Flint Hill-Vienna (running time)– Route 466 – Oakton-Vienna (running time, remove timepoint)– Route 599 – Pentagon – Crystal City Express (running time)– Route 640, 642, 644 – Stone Road – Centreville North (running

time)




Route 395 – Springfield - Pentagon

• Add three additional AM and three additional PM trips on Route 395 to address crowding issues.

• Service frequency will be approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

• Minor schedule adjustments on Routes 393, 394 and 395 to avoid stop conflicts at Pentagon Transit Center.

• Running time adjustments in coordination with interlined Route 466 to improve bus-rail transfers at Vienna Metro Station.

• Running time adjustments– 8:35 AM trip departing from Vienna Metro Station will

now depart at 8:30 PM.– 8:59 AM trip arriving at from Vienna Metro Station will

now arrive at 8:57 PM.• Elimination of Bushman Drive/Oakwood Chase

on time performance between Crystal City Metro Station and Pentagon Transit Center– 3:24 PM departure from Crystal City will now be at 3:20 PM– 3:52 PM departure from Crystal City will now be at 3:48 PM– 4:11 PM departure from Crystal City will now be at 4:08 PM– 4:33 PM departure from Crystal City will now be at 4:30 PM– 5:03 PM departure from Crystal City will now be at 5:05 PM– 5:28 PM departure from Crystal City will now be at 5:30 PM– 5:49 PM departure from Crystal City will now be at 5:50 PM
