WELCOME TO MARCH NEWSLETTER!
BRANDHALL ALLOTMENTS
We are delighted to announce that Brandhall Allotments are going to be partners with
our Community Shop group. They will be boosting our produce with fruit and veg-
etables which we will sell at ridiculously low prices. They have also kindly offered to
donate some seedlings for us to grow in the allotments.
If any parents would like to get involved in our gardening projects please contact Max-
ine Burrows by phone or email [email protected].
Also if anyone has any gardening items they wish to donate including seeds,
GREAT BRANDHALL BAKE OFF
Many Thanks to all parents who took part. We raised £110!
Half will go towards some new cookery equipment and the rest will
go to the newly nominated school charity. Congratulations to Angharad Jones who
was first in the cup cake section.
We hope the top bakers will support our big cake sale in June!
FUTURE PRIME MINISTER?
Pupils from Brandhall were invited to a Reception
at 10 Downing Street on Monday 17th March
where they met David Cameron and Davina
McCall. This was in recognition of our efforts in
raising money for Sports Relief over the past few
years, so a big thank you to all who have donated.
This was a real privilege and we were very
honoured to represent primary schools across the
country at the event.
Images can be seen on you tube and by searching
for sports relief reception 2014.

Reminder
There appear to be a number of nasty bugs and viruses around at the moment. We have had several cases in school including chickenpox, sickness & diarrhoea, conjunctivitis and
head lice. Our advice, taking guidance from HPA guidelines on these infections are:-
SICKNESS AND/OR DIARRHOEA: children should stay away from school for at least a day following the last episode of ill-
ness. CHICKENPOX:
Children are contagious only for the first 5 days following the onset of the rash and are fine to return to school following this period.
CONJUNCTIVITIS: No exclusion from school is necessary but treatment should be obtained and commenced
ASAP. HEAD LICE:
No exclusion from school is necessary but treatment should be commenced ASAP where
X BOX
The community shop is going really well. We have raised
over £200. We have purchased an X box for children to use as a
reward at lunchtimes. This purchase was made possible thanks not
only to the support of the families who use the shop but a very kind
donation from one of our parents. If you have suggestions for items
the shop should sell please let us know. If you have not yet visited the
shop please do. It is every Friday after school, usually in the Key
Stage One playground or in wet weather in the main school hall.
Our top price (except for bags of wood for wood burners that cost £4)
is 50p. We always sell drinks and snacks.
We usually have additional craft items too.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Mr Barnbrook and Mr Seery very kindly volunteered to
build our new greenhouse. We are absolutely delighted!
The Keder greenhouse is in our allotment area and will
