March 22.Health and Wellness / Health Clinic

The Club participated in a health clinic at the Food for the Poor shelter in the inner city. Persons from nearby communities made use of this free health careHealth care providers from the Comprehensive clinic, Mobile Dental clinic , medical doctors and participating pharmacywere on hand to deliver care and counseling to the poor and destitute. The health clinic proved to have been necessary and timely. Results of the checks done showed results way above normal levels. Seventy five (75) blood glucose tests among other tests, were done and medication and counseling given to specific persons. The clients were instructed and counseled regarding the medication given and their food intake.

March 22 Geriatrics

The twenty –four residents of the two homes in August Town and shut-ins in a nearby community were given their usual packages of groceries and toiletries. One woman who makes floor mats from scraps of cloth was given her usual supply .Much gratitude was expressed by both the residents and relatives who live in the community.

March 28 Leo and Youth Empowerment

Donation was made to a university student to assist with his payments for tuition. The student expressed much thanks, and as he responded, it averted suspension of his classes due to non-payment

A teacher always cares about the well being of her or other students and so four students were provided with lunches. The students said the gesture helped them to focus on their work.

March 2 Membership/Luncheon to Launch White Cane Month

Four Lions participated in the Luncheon to launch White Cane monmonth at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. The participating Lions were were the Lion President, Lions Milton, Dave and Evadney

March 3 Membership / White Cane Demonstration

Once again it was that time of year to again encourage motorists to be cognizant of the blind persons who must use the busy streets of the corporate area, to go to work or to attend school. Six Lions from the Lions Club of Mona, the St Andrew Central Lions Club and the Kingston Club, demonstrated the use of the pedestrian crossing with the blind person. It was also a call to motorist to be patient once they see the blind person with his/her cane trying to use the pedestrian crossing.Mona Lions Participating were Lions Milton, Dave , Zone Chairman and Evadney.

MA March 4 Four Lions- Lion Dave -,Zone Chairman, Lions Milton , Josephine and Evadney, participated in the fundraising social of the Spanish Town Lions Club The evening was a memorable one with great fun and camaraderie.

March 6 The 19th Anniversary Church Service of the St. Andrew Central Lions Club was held at the Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church at 7:00 a.m. Lions Dave, Milton, Keith A and Josephine attended
