MMMMaaaarrrrcccchhhh 2011201120112011 From the Desk of the DOM:
MARCH 2011 Of all the things you are planning for March, I challenge you spend much time meditating on the following:
M - MISSIONS/MINISTRY - M&Ms is the signature candy of the BBA. We keep it here all the time. Every time someone reaches to get some, we say: “M&Ms stands for MISSIONS AND MINISTRY. Think about MISSIONS AND MINIS-TRY while you eat them.” This is what we are all about. During the month of March, make sure you not only think about MISSIONS AND MINISTRY, but be actively involved somewhere, somehow, someway in the building of the King-dom of God and for the glory of God.
A - ALMIGHTY GOD – “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.” (Eph.1:11) Our God reigns supreme at all times, in all places, over every nation and people. History is HIS-STORY. The best and safest place to be in all the world is in the center of His will. May God grant to us the grace to rest in His sovereign rule.
R – RELATIONSHIPS – Ask the Lord to help you be especially thoughtful and pay particular attention to the people He has placed in your life - family, friends, strangers, etc. “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (Jn.13:34)
C – CALLING – Every Christian has a special calling to be full of good works. Many mistakenly think a special calling is only for the pastor or missionary. To every member of the Ephesian church Paul said: “For we are God’s workman-ship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Eph.2:10) Are you daily answering God’s call for you?
H – HOLY SPIRIT – Without a doubt, the greatest need of the church today is the continual manifestation of the Holy Spirit. We desperately need a mighty spiritual awakening. This will not happen until we yield ourselves completely to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.” (Zech.4:6)

What’s Going on in Our Churches As you know, King David was famous throughout the land of Israel. God used him to win many battles. But, when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and then arranged her husband's death, King David grieved the heart of God deeply. The question is for each one of
us, “Are we grieving the heart of God?” In Psalm 51, David confessed his sin. He passionately sought for-giveness from the Lord. He realized all the sacrifices in the world cannot satisfy God. Instead, David wrote, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." He had nothing to offer the Lord but a humble heart. But David was, in fact, giving all that Christ desires of a believer: a broken, humble, and honest heart. Please take time to read Psalm 51.
Many Christians believe that, because of their mis-takes, and especially their sins, they do not deserve to have the Lord use them again. But when a Christian has such deep concern, it proves that God is still at work in his or her life. This was the case with King David. The Lord forgave him, and lifted him up, al-though David still experienced the consequences of his sin.
We all know people who have failed. Let's reach out to them and offer the love of Christ, who died for all sin, past and present. Share about King David and how God forgave him and even continued to use him as a mighty king of Israel.
We all know of people who need to hear about the blessed hope of Jesus. Tell someone this month.

The Bryan Baptist Association would like to announce that the
“Cooperating Churches Under God” Vol. II is now available at the
BBA office for $15 each. This is a wonderful addition to the Vol. I but
also stands on it’s own as the history of our whole association from
1976 - now. This is not so much to document what we have done,
but to trace the hand of God, Himself, as the Husbandman oversee-
ing His vineyard. Please stop by the office and get your copy.
There has been lots of snow across Okla-homa but no heavy ice storms. Praise the Lord! Grocery store shelves have been emptied so that it looks like a disaster has struck but so far there have no been no call-outs because of ice.
Don’t forget to come join the Disaster Relief Feeding Unit at its training session to be held at Caddo First Baptist Church, Saturday, March 5th, 2011. It will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will last until around 1:00 p.m. The BGCO has commenced a $5.00 fee for all new volunteers. Any volunteer must be a member of a Southern Baptist Church. You must be trained on the Feeding Unit in order to go out to a disaster with us or to join any other Disaster Relief ministry. The Feeding Unit training is a prerequisite for all DR ministries.
We look forward to seeing you at the training.
