Gage Legare plays defense against Columbus during Friday nights seminal action of the
State B Boys Basketball Tournament in Bozeman. Unfortunately for the Scotties, their shots
wouldnt fall and the Cougars would hand them their fourth loss of the season, dashing all
hopes of a possible state title. Glasgow would then zzle out on Saturday morning as the
Malta Mustangs were red hot and the Scotties were not. It was their fth meeting of theyear, and the Mustangs would prevail with their 62-53 victory to advance to the consolation
game which they would win over Huntley Project 70-54. The Scotties nished the season at
21-5, their losses being to Glendive and Sidney on the road, twice to Malta (2B title game in
Malta), and that sting loss to Columbus this past Friday night. Glasgow will lose Lane Herbert
and Lachlan Vaira to graduation but return everyone else: juniors Gage Legare, Jason
Thibault, Jake Page, Chase Fossum, Keil Krumwiede and Jake Kolstad; and sophomores
Ethan Etchart, Zach Miller and Kevin Schindler. No doubt theyll be bumping heads with
the Mustangs again next season, but the experience Norm Braatens boys gained this year
including a trip to the State level should make them contenders again next season.
They were fun to watch and will be again
