Montana Gov. Steve Bullock declared a oodemergency late Monday afer orecasters put 30 othe states 56 counties under some type o high waterwarning. Ice jams have been reported along the YellowstoneRiver between Glendive and Sidney, and at Beaver Creek

south o Wibaux. Rapid snowmelt is also contributingto rises along the Musselshell River (a million gallons aminute owing through Roundup right now, eventuallywinding its way into Fort Peck Reservoir) and FlatwillowCreek in Petroleum county. River levels can rise rapidlyand without notice due to ice jams, especially along theYellowstone. Isnt it nice that the Milk River was not mentioned?(at least not yet...)

Charlie was working in his yardwhen he was startled by a late modelcar that came crashing through hishedge right into his ront yard. He rushed to help an elderlylady driver out o the car and sat

her down on a lawn chair. He saidwith excitement, You appear quiteelderly to be driving. Well, yes, I am, she repliedproudly. Ill be 97 next month, and Iam now old enough that I dont evenneed a drivers license anymore. You dont need a driverslicense anymore?!? Charlie saidwith astonishment.

Tats right, she last time I went to myexamined me and askedrivers license. I told hhanded it to him. He tout o the drawer, cut thpieces, and threw them basket, saying, You woanymore. So I thanked him

Cong. Daines I have been contacted by many o my Montana

Senate district 18 constituents about the horrible serviceby the U.S. Postal service. Tere basically is no service anymore. Whenmail takes weeks or days to go rom one Mt. own toanother--20 miles or more is ridiculous and harm ul tothe health and economies o Montana! And, it is notthe ault o the local post office workers. Ranchers,

armers, business olks, elderly and anyone that sendsmail, depend on good service. All we see is increasingprices and poorer service!

When I mail a letter rom my home town o Scobeyit goes to Billings or imbucktu or wherever and thennally comes back to Scobey. Sometimes this is manydays later or weeks. Tis is dangerous or olks thatdepend on the mail, especially in rural Montana thatneed their medication sent by mail. It is also costly orpeople that pay their bills or need to get a deposit intothe bank. And, with all the nancial problems the PostalService is having, this just amplies the problem. Now

olks hand deliver their mail, when mailed in Scobey toScobey businesses, thus bypassing the post office. Teregoes lost revenue. Tis is just not happening in my home town, but allover the state and country. Te only service we seem toreceive anymore is just more debt! I just visited with the Daniels County Leader olksand It took a week to get the Leader rom Scobey toFort Peck, Montana, about a 100 miles away! I wouldurge all o you to make your voices heard to our veryservice orientated U.S. government! Sen. John C. Brenden,

    Senate District 18, Montana

Senator Brenden Reporting Senator John Brenden (SD 18) sent the ollowingto U.S. Congressman Steve Daines and urges you to domake your voices heard as well.
