Lunches: Note that we have a hot lunch program and pizza days as well. Menus for our hot lunch provider are available for March 2015 (look for the forms in your child’s Kiddie Mail). To support our parents, we will provide helpful lunch ideas that do not rely on microwaves. We have included 17 lunch ideas with this newsletter which can be found on our website as well.

Tips to keep food safe until lunchtime: Freeze your juice: You can freeze juice boxes and use them as freezer packs. By

lunchtime, the juice should be thawed and ready to drink! Try a stainless steel thermos to keep food hot until lunch. Run hot water in it before

putting in the hot food.

Head Lice/Nits: Please carefully check your child’s hair. If lice or nits are found, the hair and household must be treated immediately. Please inform the school if lice/nits are detected. It is strongly recommended that “hair checking” be a weekly ritual at your home. Information is available in the agenda or handbook. Lost and Found: Home and School has taken over the responsibility of lost and found. We ask that parents please help out by ensuring their children’s belongings have their full name on them. We will do our best to get the lost items back to their owners. We will be putting lost and found items on display in the entrance of the school every second Tuesday of the month between 2:30 and 5:30 pm. As stated by Home & School, all items remaining in the Lost and Found will be sent to St. Vincent de Paul. Grade 2 Students support MIRA (www.mira.ca): Led by Wyatt Marks and assisted by his Grade colleagues. Look for them at this year’s plant sale on May 9th. MEtoWE Club: The MEtoWe Club raised $271.00 during the Volleyball Tournament towards Free the Children. A big thank you to all the parents and teachers who supported the bake sale.
