Satapatha Brahman 99.IX-1-1-6 says : "From Prajapati, when he had become enfeebled, the deities departed. Only one god, Manyu, did not leave him, but continued extended within him. He Prajapati wept. The tears that fell from his eyes remained in that 'Manyu'. He became Rudra with a hundred heads, a hundred eyes, and a hundred quivers. Then the other drops that fell from him in unnumbered thousands entered into these worlds. They were called Rudra because they sprang from him when he had wept. This Rudra with a thousand heads, eyes, and quivers, stood with his bow strong, and arrows on the string, causing terror, and demanding food. The Devatas were afraid of him. They said to Prajapati,: 'We are afraid of this being, lest he destroy us.' Prajapati said to them: 'Collect for him food, and with it appease him.' They collected for him this food, the Satarudriya." According to Shrimad Bhagwat (3-12.12,13 ) are as follows :--- Manyu, Manu There are eleven belonging to the set of Rudra. 4) “Hey Self born Manyu! You are capable of destroying the enemies. Hence make my warriors fierce and powerful. 5) “Hey Manyu! You are endowed with the best knowledge. You are magnanimous. I could not worship you because I could not organize Yagna. On account of distraction, I feel extremely shameful. You come to make me powerful according to your desire. 6) “ Hey Manyu! I come to meet you. Do me a favor and reveal your self. Hey enveloper of all, holder of Vajra and patient, advance and favor me and consider me as your friend. I will be able to kill the Rakshaas/demons with your help. 7) “Hey Manyu! Come and sit on my left side so that I may be able to kill the enemies. I offer you the best quality of Soma as Havya (offerings made in the Yagna). Then both of us will drink sweet Soma Rasa/elixir. *********** Sukta 10.84: --- Manyu Chhand: Trishtup, Jagati 1) “Hey Manyu! Marut Gana (Devataas of coronal atmosphere of Surya/sun) and others Devataas leading the war in the battlefield will strengthen themselves and then holding the sharp edged weapons, they will acquire the burning qualities of Agni/thermal energy. They will ride the chariot along with you to support you in the battlefield. 2) “Hey Manyu! You having the brilliance of Agni/thermal energy, defeat the enemies (opposing forces of Nature). You are our commander-in chief in the battlefield. Hence we invite you. Give us strength so that we can achieve victory over the enemies, win the wealth and give it to us. 3) “Hey Manyu! Destroy our enemies who dare to fight with us. Face them by hacking them into pieces and killing them. You alone can subdue the enemies because no one has the capability to face them. 4) “Hey Manyu! You are the only one. Inspire every individual for fighting the battle. When you come to help us, our Tej/radiant energy is never diminished. We herald our victory like a lion and praise you. 5) “Hey Manyu! You are formidable. I (Rishi Manyustapasah) eulogize you with your favorite hymns. You are like Indra. You achieve victory over the enemies. Let there be victory over the enemies. You are the protector of this Yagna (the first act of Dharma performed by Devataas). You are the producer of strength and power. You derive support from our eulogies.

6) “Hey Manyu- the killer of the enemies! You are by nature the killer of the enemies (opposing forces of Nature). You are endowed with most powerful Tej/radiant energy. Become stronger by participating in this battle. There are many who invite you. 7) “Varuna (the Devataa of Aapah/waters/plasma and oceans) and Manyu are requested to give us the wealth they win and acquire. By his grace, the defeated enemies out of fear have hidden themselves. ********* It may be remembered that the Brahm is Rishi In Rig Veda ******************************************************** LINK MANYU IN RIG VEDA
