What is stroke
According to WHO, stroke is considered as a disease that is caused by insufficient amount of blood supply towards the brain.
The main point of view is that stroke is caused by the rupture and blockage of the blood vessels inside the brain
WHO data in 2012 indicates that stroke has been the second main cause of death after HIV AIDS
The fact about stroke is from the CDC which shows that out of 20 American people, 1 of them will die out of stroke
This means that in every 4 minutes there will be one person dying because of it.
There are 3 main signs to identify stroke
First, there is a paralysis towards one side of the face
Second, the patient will not be able to raise one of its arm
Third, the inability for the patient to speak fluently
If there is a person around you having these 3 main signs of stroke, it is highly advised to call 118 for an ambulance and brought straight to the nearby hospital which has a stroke unit. This action must be done 3 hours before the incident. If there is no quick action towards the stroke patient, then there will be more brain damage.
Stroke can be prevented
Prevention of stroke and heart disease can be done by constant check ups
Hypertension controls Weight control Do I have abnormal cholesterol and diabetes? Do I have any heart disease? Do I have any problems with my brain vessels?
Prevention must be made by having a healthy style of living
Minimize alcohol consumption Minimize cigarette consumption Exercise often like walking 30 minutes everyday Think positively Have enough sleep And consume a healthy diet
Healthy diet
Below are foods that are safe to be consumed everday
1. Freshwater fish2. Rabbit meat3. Chicken meat and duck meat however without its skin4. Goat meat and beef without its fat5. And whites egg
Next type of food that can be consumed maximum of once or twice a week
1. Smoked beef2. Beef3. Beef Ribs4. Pigeon meat5. Pomfret
Next would be food that can only be consumed once to three times a month
1. Beef or Goat meat with fat2. Pork3. Cheese4. Coconut milk5. Crab meat6. Shrimp7. and scallops
next would be food that could be consumed three to six times a month
1. Pig fat2. Milk3. Chocolate4. Butter/Margarin5. Scallops6. Offal
Food that should not be eaten
1. Squid2. Egg yolk3. Pig and cow brain4. Quail egg
Lets save people nearby us from stroke, don’t let stroke take away their precious lives
