Overview: 41 year old female who had a benign tumor removed from her right lower leg. Incision measured 11.6cm in length.

When sutures were removed 8 days s/p surgical procedure, the wound dehysted in the center,measuring 4.2 x 2.4. MANUKApli™ applied to opened wound and covered with MANUKAtex™ with a Foam dressing applied as a secondary dressing. The dressing was changed every other day.

Overview: A polynidal cyst was removed from buttocks of a 49 year old male.

Overview: An arterial wound on the Left inner heel pad of a 73 year old male. Pt. had this wound for approx 6 months and it was deemed non-healing.

The patient's initial course of treatment, was cleansing with Normal Saline, applying Silver dressing, covering with a foam dressing and changing every 3/5 days and prn. This treatment was done until August 14, 2009, when the patient started the MANUKApli™ study. The dressing order was then changed to cleansed with NS, pat dry, apply MANUKApli™ to the wound, cover with DSD and change every 3-5days/prn.

This is a 41 year old female who had a benign tumor removed from her R great thumb. Incision site measures 16 cm and is in the shape of a “greater than >” symbol.

Photo # 1 - 07/06/2009 Sutures removed. Used mineral oil and covered with silicone condom as MD ordered. No drainage or odor noted. Pt. rated pain an 8. Pt. hasminimal movement to the thumb.

Photo # 3 - 07/10/2009 Order received from MD to stop mineral oil and use of silicone condom and begin ManukaMed® honey product trial. Order received to apply ManukaMed®to incision and cover with DSD and change daily. This photo taken 2 hours after honey applied. No maceration or odor noted. Pt rated pain a 0. Pt. obtained moderate movement to the thumb.

Photo # 4 - 07/15/2009 Dehiscent area fully granulated, wound healed out. Minimal scar noted around the area of dehiscent, faint incision line noted throughout the thumb. Pt. statesthere is no pain. Pt. has full range of motion of thumb. Pt. discharged from study.

Overview: Open fx of the right tibia on a 32 year old male following MVA.

After setting of the leg and upon cleansing of the wound bed and closure with non-dissolving sutures, MANUKApli™ was applied to incision line daily. After 8 days sutures were removed and honey continued to be applied until incision line heals out.

Overview: A 40 year old female had a benign tumor removed from her left index finger. The surgical site measures 6.2 cm in a “U” shape.

The patient's initial course of treatment, was cleansing with Normal Saline, applying Neosporin and covering with a DSD daily. This treatment was to be done until the sutures were removed on September 23, 2009 when the patient could participate in the MANUKApli™ study. Pt has had multiple surgeries with dehiscence occurring, this surgical site was no exception with incision line opening on September 24, 2009. MD allowed wound to heal from inside out using MANUKApli™. Dressing order was now, cleanse with NS, apply MANUKApli™ to surgical site, cover with DSD and change daily.
